How to increase and decrease: Slip 1 st as if to K, K 2 sts in next st, psso

In this DROPS video we show how to increase and decrease by slipping 1 st as if to knit, knit 2 sts in next st, pass the slipped st over. We show the increase/decrease 2 times.

In this DROPS video we show how to increase 2 stitches to 4 stitches. We show the increases twice and how the increases stitches are worked in the next row. Knit 2 together but do not slip the stitches from the left needle, make 1 yarn over, knit 1 through the back loop of each of the same 2 stitches on the left needle, then slip the stitches off the left needle = 2 stitches have become 4 stitches (yarn over is purled twisted on next row to avoid a hole).
