In this DROPS video we show how to crochet a Moebius ring. Moebius, a German mathematician from the beginning of the 19th century, who developed the magically twisted circle ring on which this crochet technique is based.

Ch a row in desired length of your cowls circumference. Form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: ch 3 (= 1 tr), skip first ch, continue to work 1 tr in every ch the entire round, work only in back loop of ch. Continue to work in the round and once you finish the first round you now work 1 tr in every ch in front loop of ch (i.e. there will be a "cross" in the transition).
ROUND 2: (Insert a marker = beg of round). Begin working 1 tr in 3rd ch from beg of previous round, continue to work 1 tr in every tr the entire round. Continue in the round with desired stitch pattern.

Tak for fremragende videoer! Jeg vil meget gerne prøve at hækle et moebius sjal men kæmper med at opslagsrækken bliver for stram. Jeg har prøvet at slå op med en større nål, men syntes stadig at opslagskanten fremstår ufleksibel. Når jeg kikker rundt på diverse fotos, er dette også i flere tilfælde synligt. Kan jeg lave en fleksibel opslagning, eller skal jeg leve med at den vil være mere stram / ufleksibel end resten af sjalet?

Hei Charlotte. Du kan når du hekler starten (luftmaskeraden), å hekle flere luftmasker, så når du hekler 1. omgang hopper du over hver 3. luftmaske. Bare husk å regne ut hvor mange luftmasker du må legge til, slik at du kan hoppe over hver 3. luftmaske. God Fornøyelse!

In this DROPS video we give you a short overview of how to work a garment with European shoulders. The garment is worked according to points 1 – 3. 1 - BACK PIECE: Cast on stitches for the back of the neck. Work the back piece back and forth, increasing stitches on each side until the shoulder stitch count has been achieved. The back piece has slightly diagonal shoulders. Continue working as far as the armholes. The back piece stitches are now placed on a stitch holder and the front piece is worked. 2 - FRONT PIECE: The piece is begun in 2 sections. Start by knitting up stitches along one back shoulder, working pattern back and forth and downwards, while increasing for the neckline. Repeat on the other shoulder. The right and left front pieces are joined when the neckline increases are finished. The front piece is then continued back and forth as far as the armholes. 3 - YOKE: Place the front and back pieces on the same circular needle, joining them together by cast on stitches under each sleeve. The body is continued in the round to the correct measurement.

In this DROPS video we show a pair of mittens before and after felting. To prevent the thumb from felting together, turn the mitten to WS (wrong side) and place a narrow silk ribbon along the thumb. Secure the ribbon with a safety pin – NB: insert the pin vertically towards the tip of the thumb so it is easy to remove after felting. Turn the mitten back to RS (right side) before felting. 1. Place the mittens in the washing machine with a wool detergent that does not contain enzymes or optical brighteners. 2. Wash at 40 °C / 104 °F, normal spin, no pre-wash. 3. Stretch and shape the mittens to the correct measurements while still wet. 4. If they turn out too small: soak in water until completely wet, then stretch back to the desired size. 5. Afterwards, the mittens can be washed as any other wool garment.

In this DROPS video we how to make 3 strands out of 1 single strand from a ball of yarn. 1. Make a simple loop (like the loop worked when you begin any crochet project) and pull it to approx. 2-3 cm in length. 2. Thread the strand from the skein through this loop, creating a new loop of approx. 40-50 cm. 3. Lay this loop alongside the working strand, so 1 strand becomes 3 strands. 4. In this DROPS video we show you how to join 2 pieces together (A and B), then cast off with an I-cord. Place all the stitches from A and B on the same needle, so that every second stitch on the needle belongs to A and B. We cast off with I-cord as follows: - Cast on 3 stitches onto the right needle. Slip the 3 stitches from the right needle onto the left needle with the working strand now situated 3 stitches in on the left needle. - ROW 1 (= right side): Knit 2, knit 3 twisted together (i.e., 1 stitch from the front piece and 1 stitch from the back piece is decreased). Slip 3 stitches from the right needle back onto the left needle. Do not turn (working like this tightens the working strand so the piece forms a small tube). - Repeat ROW 1 until there are 3 stitches left. Cast off and fasten all strands.

In this DROPS video we show you how to work a textured edge on the right side of the piece. We have already worked a section of stocking stitch in the round and begin the video by showing you how to pick up stitches from the wrong side as follows: Find the stitch which lies 2 rounds below the next stitch on the needle, pick up this stitch in the top loop (from the wrong side) and place it on the left needle. Knit together the stitch loop and the first stitch. Repeat to the end of the round. Then continue as described in the pattern, for example with rib or stocking stitch.
