How to knit a cable shaped like a heart
We knit an edge in each side with 2 stitches = edge stitches and we have already 24 stitches casted on and knitted 2 rows.
In the beginning of the video we show row 1-12. Then we show the cable which is knitted 3 times
Work as follows:
ROW 1 (right side): knit 2 (= edge stitches), purl 4, knit 2, put 2 stitches on the cable needle behind the piece, knit 2, knit 2 from the cable needle, put 2 stitches on the cable needle in front of the piece, knit 2, knit 2 from the cable needle, knit 2, purl 4 and knit 2 (= edge stitches).
ROW 2 (wrong side): Knit 2 + 4, purl 12, knit 4 + 2.
ROW 3: Knit 2, purl 4, put 2 stitches on the cable needle behind the piece, knit 2, purl 2 from the cable needle, knit 4, put 2 stitches on the cable needle in front of the piece, purl 2, knit 2 from the cable needle, purl 4 and knit 2 (= edge stitches).
ROW 4: Knit 2+4, purl 2, knit 2, purl 4, knit 2, purl 2 and knit 4+2.
ROW 5: Knit 2, purl 3, put 1 stitch on the cable needle behind the piece, knit 2, purl 1 from the cable needle, purl 2, put 2 stitches on the cable needle behind the piece, knit 2, knit 2 from the cable needle, purl 2, put 2 stitches on the cable needle in front of the piece, purl 1, knit 2 from the cable needle, purl 3 and knit 2.
ROW 6: Knit 2+3, purl 2, knit 3, purl 4, knit 3, purl 2 and knit 3+2.
ROW 7: Knit 2, purl 2, put 1 stitch on the cable needle behind the piece, knit 2, purl 1 from the cable needle, purl 3, knit 4, purl 3, put 2 stitches on the cable needle in front, purl 1, knit 2 from the cable needle, purl 2 and knit 2.
ROW 8: Knit 2+2, purl 2, knit 4, purl 4, knit 4, purl 2 and knit 2+2.
ROW 9: Knit 2, purl 2, knit 2, purl 4, put 2 stitches on the cable needle behind the piece, knit 2, knit 2 from the cable needle, purl 4, knit 2, purl 2 and knit 2.
ROW 10: Knit 2+2, purl 2, knit 4, purl 4, knit 4, purl 2 and knit 2+2.
ROW 11: Knit 2, purl 2, put 2 stitches on the cable needle in front of the piece, purl 2, knit 2 from the cable needle, put 2 stitches on the cable needle behind the piece, knit 2, knit 2 from the cable needle, put 2 stitches on the cable needle in front on the piece, knit 2, knit 2 from the cable needle, put 2 stitches on the cable needle behind the piece, knit 2, purl 2 from the cable needle, purl 2 and knit 2.
ROW 12: Knit 2+4, purl 12 and knit 4+2.
Repeat row 3-12 until the desired length and cast off.
We use DROPS Snow in the video, but the smaller example in pink is made with DROPS Cotton Merino, the cable is also knitted 3 times. You must read the text above in addition to watching the video.

Ik sluit me toch aan bij de vraag van Marijke v.d. Plas of het mogelijk is van deze hartenkabel een telpatroon te maken. Dat lijkt mij overzichtelijker dan de hele tekst. De achterkant lijkt me overbodig, daar men de steken breit zoals ze zich voordoen. Ik heb het hele patroon gevolgd en wil graag snel aan de slag!

Bonjour Mme Sinzot, nous avons juste ces explications, mais quand vous tricotez en rond, vous tricotez les mailles comme elles doivent se présenter sur l'endroit, inversez les rangs envers en les lisant par la fin et en inversant (2 m env sur l'env se tricotent à l'end sur l'end). Bon tricot!
15.12.2021 - 08:35Je tricote les chaussettes en toe up, est ce que c'est possible d'inverser ce point pour que les coeurs soient tjrs bien placé cad du dernier rang vers le début ?

Bonjour Mme Schaeffer, probablement, il vous faudra peut être tricoter ce motif une fois pour pouvoir l'inverser, ça pourra vous aider. Toutefois, si vous tricotez une chaussette en toe-up, la torsade "coeur" sera alors la pointe en bas, comme sur la photo. si vous l'inversez, la pointe du coeur serait en haut, est-ce vraiment ce que vous voulez?

05.02.2020 - 12:33Vielen Dank für die Anleitung. Ich liebe Muster, und dank Ihrer Anleitung habe ich zauberhafte Herzchenzöpfe zustande gebracht. Ich habe allerdings nur nach mit der Strickschrift gearbeiet, ohne das Video anzuschauen. Ein kleiner Tipp: in meinen alten Strickanleitungen (also von früher) stand bei der Rückreihe immer "Maschen stricken, wie sie erscheinen". Das erspart eine Menge tippen und erleichtert das Lesen der Strickschrift.

O final da 1ª carreira é: "... deslizar 2 malhas para a agulha auxiliar colocada à frente da peça, 2 malhas meia, retomar as 2 malhas da agulha auxiliar e tricotá-las em meia, 2 malhas meia, 4 malhas liga e +2 malhas meia (= malhas ourela) = 24 m" P.
