How to knit stripes back and forth
When you knit stripes you can carry along the yarn not in use along the edge. This way you don't have multiple thread ends to fasten afterward. Before each new row from RS twist the working yarn around the tread/threads not in use, and then continue.
You must read the pattern to be able to follow. You’ll find patterns where you can use this technique by clicking on the pictures below.

I have a problem following instructions for back rise. I assume that at this point we still knit back & front (not in the round). In this case my marker (transition from right sleeve to back) is the beginning on my knit. Based on the instruction , I must use part of the right and left sleeve in rising, and that I cannot qdo (or do not know how). I know how to rise only back (27 sts)

Buongiorno Claudia, se le strisce non sono troppo distanziate può portare avanti tutti i colori, se invece le parti sono ampie, meglio tagliare i fili. Buon lavoro!

Hallo Streifen super gezeigt im Video. Ich möchte aber die Kinder Jacke mit den 9 Farben stricken. wie mache in den Farbwechsel bei der Knopflochblende bei 5 Maschen kraus rechts für die Blende. Da wird die Seite mit den Farben ziemlich dick und Faden bei jeder Farbe abschneiden? wie kann man diese sauber vernähen. Obwohl ich eine gute Strickerin bin, habe ich Probleme mit Farben wechseln bei Knopfblende. Bitte um Hilfe. Danke

De kantsteek maak je op dezelfde manier als normaal. Bij het in elkaar zetten van het kledingstuk valt de kantsteek namelijk weg naar de binnenkant van het kledingstuk en dus kun je niet zien met welke kleur de kantsteek is gemaakt. Zelf maak ik de kantsteek altijd aan het begin van de naald met de nieuwe kleur en (indien van toepassing) aan het eind van de naald met de oude kleur.

What are the last two stitches at the end of the row? The needle is coming into the stitch from the back, the yarn is held in back and picked up, and then there is a twist of some kind but the demonstration is too fast for me to understand. I have looked at the knitting videos for continental and for wrapping, but they do not include this end of row technique. What is the purpose of this end of row technique? Do you have a video of it? Thank-you!

Dear Adrienne, if the cast off edge will be hidden (like when stitches are picked up afterwards, or if it would be sewn) you can cast of with both yarn. In other cases, leave the yarn you carried out, and cast off with the main yarn. The other thread can be sewn in later. Happy Knitting!
