How to close the seam under raglan sleeve (Kitchener sts, grafting, weaving)

In this DROPS video we show two ways of sewing together the hole under sleeves on a jumper/jacket with raglan. First, we show how to sew together so we get an invisible seam. Remember not to tighten the thread and sew from RS. Stitches should be same size as the knitted stitches. At thicker yarn it avoids that it becomes a thick seam on the back. Then we show how to sew together by sewing together the seam in the inner loops of edge sts. You get a thicker stitching on the outside, but it will not show up when it comes under arm. How to sew a folded hem

In this DROPS video we show how to sew a basic folded edge. Wee purl 1 row seen from RS, and this row is where we do the fold and from where all length measures in pattern are measured. So knit a couple of cm/ an inch in stockinette st then P 1 right side row, then continue in stockinette or what patterns tells. Afterward fold the bottom edge to inside and sew with neat sts. How to sew mattress stitches

In this DROPS video we show how to sew mattress stitches. This is a common way of seaming together side-to-side pieces - like side seams on sweaters. In the video we use a contrasting color yarn so it's easy to see what we are doing. If the tail from casting on is long enough use it to seam. Mattress stitching is done in the space between the edge stitch and the stitch next to it. Lay the pieces side by side with the right side facing you. Pull the edge stitch slightly away from the stitch next to it so that you can see the bar between the edge st and the next st. Insert your yarn needle under the bar. Pull the yarn through the bar and then insert the needle under the bar on the other piece. Work back and forth, inserting the needle under the bar on one piece then the other piece. As you go along you can pull the yarn in the direction of the seam and the pieces will be joined with an invisible seam. You must read the pattern to be able to follow. How to sew invisible grafting / kitchener stitch in the cast off edge from wrong side

In this DROPS video we show how to sew an invisible seam in the cast off edge from wrong side (same technique can also be used when sewing cast on and cast off edge together). Put the pieces with the wrong side together, edge to edge. Fasten the thread by sewing the two corners together twice. Put the needle in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch on the first piece (down and up), then sew in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch on the second piece (down and up), continue sewing every other part, down and up. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video.

How to knit Kitchener stitch

In this DROPS video we show how to knit Kitchener stitch. This means knitting two parts together with an invisible seam. This is a perfect technique for the top of the toes on a sock, shoulders etc. Have your sts on each needle with right sides out. Working yarn attached in the back piece. Following 4 steps are being repeated: 1. go purl-wise into first st on front needle, pull yarn through, lift st off needle. 2. go knit-wise into next st on front needle, pull yarn through (leave st on needle). 3. go knit wise into first st on back needle, pull yarn through, lift st off needle. 4. go purl-wise into next st on back needle, pull yarn through (leave st on needle). Jak sešívat díly pletacím stehem

V této video-ukázce DROPS uvidíte, jak sešívat upletené díly tzv. pletacím stehem, který splyne s pleteninou a stane se tak "neviditelným". Tato technika je ideální na sešívání spiček ponožek, sešívání náramenic a pod. Postupujeme takto: oka máme srovnaná na každé jehlici, pletnina leží lícovou stranou nahoru. Pracovní přízi přichytíme na zadním dílu. Jehlu s přízí provlečeme okem na přední jehlici, jakobychom oko chtěli uplést obrace, pak jehlu vpíchneme do 1. oka na zadní jehlici, jako bychom toto oko chtěli plést hladce. Přízi utáhneme - a můžeme pokračovat. Následující 4 kroky budeme stále opakovat: 1. vpíchneme "hladce" do 1. oka na přední jehlici, oko spustíme z jehlice 2. vpíchneme "obrace" do následujícího oka na přední jehlici, protáhneme přízi (oko zatím zůstává na jehlici) 3. vpíchneme "obrace" do 1. oka na zadní jehlici, oko spustíme z jehlice 4. vpíchneme "hladce" do následujícího oka na zadní jehlici, protáhneme přízi (oko zatím zůstává na jehlici) Zkrátka, pamatujte si "hladce, obrace, obrace, hladce" a vždy se začíná na přední jehlici. In this DROPS video we show 2 ways to sew together a piece worked in garter stitches. Fold the piece, RS against RS and sew the cast off edge together in the outermost loop so the seam is flat. 1. How to set a sleeve to a yoke / body

In this DROPS video we show how it is thought that a sleeve will be sewn to a yoke/body so that it matches a measurement chart. Follow the pattern, whether it is knitted from above or from below. Cast on or cast off stitches for armholes, read the pattern / see measurement chart. Work the sleeve around to the stated measurements, then work back and forth to finished measurements. When the sleeve and body are sewn together make sure that the marks on sleeves fit bottom of armhole. We use the yarn DROPS Nepal in the video. In this DROPS video we show how to assembly a sleeve to a front piece with garter stitch edge. Lay the sleeves under the garter stitch edge along the armholes and sew neatly from the right side (there should not be a loose edge after sewing; sew in the outermost garter stitch from the right side so the edge lies neatly outside the sleeve). How to assemble a slipper

In this DROPS video we show how a slipper looks when it is finished knitted, where it is to be sewn and where to pick up stitches / knit 2 rows to the opening to the foot. The picture of the slippers in the video are knitted in DROPS Big Delight, but in video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow.
