GARTER STITCH (back and forth):
1 ridge = knit 2 rows.

See diagrams A.1 to A.6. Diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from the right side.

Work piece back and forth on straight needles or circular needle. Cast on and cast off with double yarn to avoid tight edges, work the rest of piece with 1 strand.

Loosely cast on 93 stitches on needle size 4.5 mm with 2 strands Kid-Silk. Remove 1 strand and continue only with 1 strand. Work 2 ridges in GARTER STITCH - see explanation above. Then work according to diagrams as follows: Work diagram A.1 over 17 stitches, repeat A.2 over the next 60 stitches (= 6 repetitions in width) and A.3 over 16 stitches. When diagrams have been worked 1 time vertically, continue according to diagrams as follows: Work A.4 over 17 stitches, work 10 stitches in garter stitch (insert a marker thread/marker after these stitches to mark where diagram A.5 begins), work A.5 over the next 39 stitches (insert a marker thread/marker after A.5 to mark where A.5 ends), work 10 stitches in garter stitch and work A.6 over 17 stitches. Move the marker threads/markers upwards when working.
Continue to work diagrams A.4, A.5 and A.6 like this vertically - every time diagram A.5 is worked 1 time vertically, work diagram A.4 and A.6 2 times vertically. Work like this until diagram A.5 has been worked 16 times in total vertically (= 33 tips in each side). Now work diagram A.1 over 17 stitches, repeat A.2 over the next 60 stitches (= 6 repetitions in width) and A.3 over 16 stitches. Work diagrams like this 1 time vertically (= 34 tips in each side). Work 2 ridges. Use 2 strands and cast off by knitting on next row. Cut the yarn and fasten.

= knit from right side, knit from wrong side
= between 2 stitches make 1 yarn over, knit yarn over on next row to make a hole
= knit 2 together
= slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked
= slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 2 stitches together, pass slipped stitch over stitches worked together

It is wonderful to see an older model who is nearer my age than all the young girl models!! This color looks great on you too!
