DROPS design: Pattern no LA-003
Yarn group A
---------------------------------------------------------
Width: approx. 45 cm when blocked
Length: approx. 150 cm when blocked

Materials:
DROPS LACE from Garnstudio
100 g colour no 0100, off white

DROPS STRAIGHT NEEDLES SIZE 3.5 mm - NOTE! Read about the knitting tension below.

KNITTING TENSION:
This garment is to be soaked and blocked/stretched to size afterwards so the knitting tension is not that important. But to get a sense of whether you are working too loose/tight, work a test on needle size 3.5 mm in stocking st and get approx. 23 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows.

PATTERN: See diagram. The diagram shows the pattern from RS.

BOBBLE:
1st row (RS): Work 7 sts in 1 st as follows: * K 1, 1 YO *, repeat from *-* a total of 3 times and finish with K 1 = 7 sts. It is important to work the sts loosely (approx. 1 cm long).
2nd row (WS): P these 7 sts tog. It will be difficult to work the sts from 1st row tog if they are too short and too tight.
---------------------------------------------------------

SHAWL:
NOTE! The shawl can be made bigger or smaller by casting on 24 sts more or 24 sts less. Cast on 103 sts on needle size 3.5 mm with Lace and K 1 row from WS. Work next row as follows: 3 sts in GARTER ST - see explanation above - 8 times diagram M.1, 1 st in stocking st, 3 sts in garter st. Continue like this until diagram M.1 has been worked 1 time vertically, then K 5 rows and P 1 row from WS. Now work diagram M.2 4 times then 1 st in stocking while AT THE SAME TIME continuing with 3 edge sts in garter st in each side. Work diagram M.2 1 time vertically, then K 5 rows and P 1 row from WS. Work next row as follows: 1 time diagram M.3A, 6 times diagram M.3B, and 1 time diagram M.3C with 3 edge sts in garter st in each side. Continue like this until piece measures approx. 75 cm, adjust so that one whole or half repetition of diagram M.3 has been worked vertically. Now K 4 rows over all sts. Put all sts on a stitch holder. Knit another part the same way.

ASSEMBLY:
Graft/sew the 2 parts tog st by st.

BLOCKING:
Place the shawl in lukewarm water until it is soaking wet. Carefully squeeze the water out of the shawl - do not twist the shawl - then roll the shawl in a towel and squeeze to remove more water - the shawl will now only be moist.
Place the shawl on a carpet or mattress - carefully stretch it out to size and fasten it with pins. Leave to dry. Repeat the process when the garment has been washed.

Bon tricot!

Denise 19.09.2018 - 23:39:

All of your patterns work up beautifully, but this one is amazing! Thank you.

Zuzana Guldanova 09.05.2016 - 22:16:

Melanie 29.12.2015 - 18:11:

The instructions print but how do you get the diagrams to print? I have had this problem before and drawn the diagrams by hand but this one is a bit complicated!

DROPS Design 02.01.2016 kl. 15:20:

Dear Melanie, just made a print-test and it worked perfectly, diagrams should be on page 4/6 on the printed pattern. Happy knitting!

Josien 31.08.2013 - 17:51:
