GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows.

Inc at each side of the 2 sts with markers.
Inc before marker as follows: Work until 1 st remain before marker, make a YO.
Inc after marker as follows: Work 1 st after marker, make a YO.
On next row work YOs twisted (i.e. work in the back loop of YO instead of front) to avoid holes.

All dec are done from RS. Dec by K 2 sts tog.

Worked in garter st in one piece back and forth on circular needle.
Cast on 48-52-56-60-68-76 sts on circular needle size 12 mm with Polaris and work in GARTER ST - see explanation above. Insert 2 markers in the piece: after 12-13-14-15-17-19 sts from side = 24-26-28-30-34-38 sts between markers.
SIZE S and M: When piece measures 9 cm, inc 2 sts at each marker - Read INCREASE TIP!
Size L-XXXL: When piece measures 5 cm, inc 2 sts at each marker, repeat inc every 5-4-4-4 cm 2-3-3-3 more times - Read INCREASE TIP!
After all inc are done there are 52-56-68-76-84-92 sts on needle. When piece measures 17-18-19-20-21-22 cm, beg casting off for armholes and dec for neckline and divide the piece from RS as follows: K 2 sts tog, work 10-11-13-15-16-17 sts and slip these sts on a stitch holder (= right front piece), cast off 2-2-4-4-6-8 sts, work 24-26-30-34-36-38 sts (= back piece) and slip these sts on a stitch holder, cast off 2-2-4-4-6-8 sts, work until 2 sts remain, K these 2 sts tog. Now finish each part separately.

= 11-12-14-16-17-18 sts.
Read all of the following section before continuing!
K 3 rows, beg from WS. On next row (= RS) dec for neckline and armholes at the same time - Read DECREASE TIP.
Dec every 4 rows: 1 st 4 times.
Dec every 4 rows: 1 st 1-2-3-4-4-5 times. After all dec are done 6-6-7-8-9-9 sts remain for shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 33-35-37-39-41-43 cm.

Slip sts from stitch holder on needle (1st row = WS). Work as left front piece but dec for neckline and armholes in the opposite side.

Slip sts from stitch holder on needle – 24-26-30-34-36-38 sts. K 1 row from WS. Dec for armholes in each side of piece as follows: Dec every 4 rows: 1 st 1-2-3-4-4-5 times. When piece measures 28-30-32-34-36-38 cm, cast off the middle 8 sts for neckline and finish each shoulder separately. On next row cast off 1 st towards the neckline = 6-6-7-8-9-9 sts remain for shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 33-35-37-39-41-43 cm.

Sew the shoulder seams.
Twined thread: Cut 4 threads Polaris of approx. 2 meters. Insert two of the threads through the outermost st where cast off for neckline beg so that the threads are of same length each side. Twine the 2 threads tog until they resist, fold the string double so that it twines. Make a knot at the end. Do the same on the other front piece.
