PATTERN:
See diagram M.1. Work entire pattern in stocking st.
--------------------------------------------------------

POT HOLDER:
Worked in the round on circular needle.
Cast on 96 sts on circular needle size 3 mm with red. P 1 round, K 1 round, P 1 round and K 1 round. Insert 1 marker in the first st at beg of round and 1 marker in the 49th st (= the sides). Continue in M.1 (48 sts) – repeat 2 times. Continue until M.1 has been knitted 1 time vertically. Now P 1 round, K 1 round and P 1 round with red. Then K 1 round, AT THE SAME TIME cast on 20 new sts at the end of round (with red). Turn piece, cast off the 20 new sts and cast off the remaining 96 sts from WS. Place pot holder flat with the markers at the sides. Sew the pot holder tog at the bottom with neat, little stitches – sew inside the cast on edge. Sew the pot holder tog at the top the same way – NOTE: The 20 new sts = loop, sew the end of the loop to the corner of the pot holder.

Knit another pot holder but switch the colours so that the pattern colour is red and the base colour is white.

Valentina 04.12.2012 - 00:42:

Hi, on "Continue in M.1 (48 sts) – repeat 2 times. Continue until M.1 has been knitted 1 time vertically" should i repeat M1 one or two time?

DROPS Design 04.12.2012 kl. 09:33:

Dear Valentina, you cast on 96 sts so that you work 2 times M1 in breadth but 1 time in height. Happy Knitting!

DROPS Design 20.01.2012 - 19:33:

Pamela, on the rounds with solid colors you only use the one color and let the other rest.

Pamela 20.01.2012 - 19:25:

On this pattern, the rounds that are a solid color, should I drop the other color and only knit with the one strand or should I strand the other color in the back twisting it along? Thank you,
