Hi - I'm trying to figure A1 out. I'm knitting the M/L size. Am I meant to repeat the bottom row of the diagram four times before moving on to the rest of the diagram? Or do I just follow the diagram when the pattern says, reading it from right to left? Thank you.

Dear Jenn, repeat the diagram a total of 4 times on the round (on the first round you repeat 4 times 27 sts = 108, then work each row from the right towards the left until A.1 is done. Thee are 13 sts in each of the 4 A.1 when diagram is done = 52 sts. Happy knitting!

Dzień dobry, Czy zmieniając kierunek przerabiania zawsze musi zostać dziurka? Czy jest na to jakiś sposób? Czy to ja coś robię źle? Pozdrawiam

”Sticka A.1 över alla maskor (= 4 rapporter à 24-27 maskor).”
07.01.2022 - 12:27DROPS Design answered:
Hej Eva.

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagram A.1. Choose diagram for your size. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Cast on 96-108 stitches with circular needle size 3.5 mm and 2 strands DROPS Alpaca (= 1 strand of each colour). Purl 1 round, then work rib (knit 1 twisted, purl 2) for 10 cm. The turn-up is worked from the wrong side so the knitted-twisted stitches are on the outside when the edge is turned up. The rest of the hat is worked from the right side by turning the piece and continuing in the round from the other direction. Continue with rib (= knit 1 twisted / purl 2). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Continue working until the piece measures 24-26 cm (including the 10 cm turn-up), there is approx. 10 cm left to finished length. Work A.1 over all stitches (= 4 repeats of 24-27 stitches). When A.1 has been worked 1 time in height there are 40-52 stitches left. On the next round work all stitches together 2 and 2 = 20-26 stitches. Work all stitches together 2 and 2 again = 10-13 stitches. Cut the strands and pull them through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well. The hat measures approx. 34-36 cm. Fold up the bottom 10 cm. The hat measures approx. 24-26 cm. |
