Was kann man da tun? Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Elisa Illichmann

Hej Kan man ikke strikke det ud i et, i stedet for at strikke det i 2 dele og sy sammen? På forhånd tak for svar. Hilsen Britta

Goedemorgen!

Ok, I figured out A-1 and am ready to tackle A-2. How many repeats of A-2 are necessary to reach the desired length? And after I have completed A-2, do I begin again with the first row of A-2? The directions definitely need clarification!
07.10.2020 - 07:04DROPS Design respondeu:
Hi Sue, You repeat A.2 in height until you have reached the correct length, making sure you finish on one of the rows in the diagram marked with an arrow. You then work the second half of the shawl in the same way as the first, before sewing the 2 together. Happy knitting!

When counting stitches in each section, does each yarn over count as one stitch? Second question, in the the first row of A-1 (and this question will apply throughout), will the last 2 stitches for section a be a yarn over and a knit, with section b beginning with a yarnover? Will section b end with yarn over and knit, with section c beginning with a yarnover?
06.10.2020 - 20:57DROPS Design respondeu:
Dear Mrs Craver, the yarn overs should count as stitches and compensate the decreases done on the same row, this means the number of stitches should be always the same. diagram a finishes with YO, knit 1 and diagram b starts with YO and ends with YO, K1 - diagram c starts with YO (= in each diagram on this row you will decrase 2 sts in the middle and have 2 yarn overs). Happy knitting!

Hi Could you please read my questions from 28/09 and 29/09 as these are all related. As I already mentioned I used 5mm needles for the swatch and did not want to increase the needle size further for the reasons I explained. Could you please read my previous questions and get back to me regarding using double stranded yarn. Thanks.

Dar RS, DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk can replace DROPS Vivaldi - this scarf is worked with 1 strand Vivaldi, so that you will have to use 1 strand Brushed Alpaca Silk not 2 - To get the same as on the phofo and finished measurements, your tension should be 18 sts = 10 cm - ajust the needle size if necessary - you can use 2 strands Brushed Alpaca Silk and another tension but then your scarf and it texture will be different and this might affect the amount of yarn. -Read more about- tension in the previous link (see FAQ pattern) and you are welcome to contact your DROPS store for any further individual assistance - even per mail or telephone. Happy knitting!

Hi This is a follow-up question to my previous one regarding tension. I did wash and block my swatch and the tension was 24sts to 10cm. Would you recommend using a double strand of brushed alpaca silk instead and a smaller needle to try and achieve the right tension? I am not sure how tricky it would be to use a double strand of yarn for a lace knitting.
29.09.2020 - 13:14DROPS Design respondeu:
Dear RS, if you don't get the correct tension with needle size 4 mm, try again with larger needles until you get the right tension - read more about tension here - Happy knitting!

The pattern recommends 4mm needles but this is for Drops Vivaldi. Drops recommend Brushed Alpaca Silk as a substitute and for this yarn 5mm needles are suggested. I'm having trouble with the tension. When I swatched I had 24sts to 10cm with 5mm needles. I don't want to increase the needle size as this will produce a loose fabric in the finished item and this does not look nice with a lace pattern. Would it be possible to use a double strand of yarn instead and a smaller needle to get tension?
28.09.2020 - 12:14DROPS Design respondeu:
Dear RS, Brushed Alpaca Silk is a good choice as alternative to Vivaldi (same weight/meterage). To get the finished measurements you need to have the correct tension, you can block your swatch first and check measurements after blocking - read more about tension here. Happy knitting!

Hi On some rows in the pattern, row 1 for example, there is a YO between A1a and A1b and A1b and A1c (this is also the case in A2). I'm not exactly sure how to handle this given that I need to repeat A1b 4 times. I think that you would do the following: Do a YO at the end of A1a and then start A1b with a knit stitch and then end A1b with a YO and then when you start A1b for the second time you start with a knit stitch? Is this correct?
14.08.2020 - 13:34DROPS Design respondeu:
Dear RS, you should always have the same number of sts in each diagram, ie each decrease will be compensate by a yarn over. work a over 20 sts, each b over 12 sts and c over 19 sts. Adding a marker between each repeat can help you to keep the correct number of sts. Happy knitting!
