The directions shows number of stitches in relation to size. But the schematic drawing shows number differently than the stitch numbers in the directions. In the drawing the number range from 64 to 75 for the top. Yet the pattern range is 35 to 41 stitches to start. What does the 64 to 75 mean? Stitches, inches?? Following the pattern directions does not yield the size indicated. I have ripped out this piece twice and am determined to do it again till it is right.

I am referring to page 5 paragraph 1-it doesn’t agree with the number on the needle after the last increase. Also in the body section the body stitch count doesn’t agree with the stitch count from paragraph 1 on page 5. Am I missing something? Thank you for your help.
