Clue #1 - Flower square 1 Anemone

Here's the 1st clue for our Mystery Blanket CAL in an easy step by step - everyone can join! You can also find a video for the whole clue at the bottom of this lesson!

Work 8 ch on hook size 3 mm with light turquoise.

Form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.

ROUND 1: Work 1 ch (= 1st dc), 11 dc around ch-ring, finish with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 12 dc.

ROUND 2: Work 6 ch (3 ch = 1st tr), * skip 1 dc, 1 tr in next dc, 3 ch*, repeat from *-*, and finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch at beg of round - READ COLOUR CHANGE = 6 ch-spaces. Cut the yarn.

COLOUR CHANGE:

When changing colour work as follows: Before last pull through of last loop on hook, switch colour, pull the last loop on hook through with the new colour.

ROUND 3: Switch to pink and work 1 sl st around first ch-space, around every ch-space work as follows: 1 dc, 1 htr, 1 tr, 1 dtr, 1 ch, 1 dtr, 1 tr, 1 htr and 1 dc with 1 ch between each leaf, finish with 1 sl st in first sl st on round - READ COLOUR CHANGE = 6 flower leaves. Cut the yarn.

The flower is done. Now work SQUARE.

ROUND 1: Switch to white and turn piece, from WS * 4 ch, 1 sl st around first/next ch from 3rd round *. Repeat from *-* and finish with 1 sl st in 1st ch at beg of round. = 6 ch-spaces.

ROUND 2: Turn piece, from RS 1 sl st in first ch-space, 3 ch (= 1 tr), 3 tr in same ch-space, * (2 tr, 2 ch, 4 tr) in next ch-space, (4 tr, 2 ch, 2 tr) in next ch-space *, 4 tr in next ch-space repeat from *-* 1 more time, and finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch at beg of round. = 32 tr, 4 ch-spaces.

ROUND 3: 3 ch (= 1 tr), work 1 tr in every tr until 2 ch-loop in each corner, work (2 tr, 2 ch, 2 tr) in each corner around the entire round and finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch at beg of round = 48 tr, 4 ch-spaces.

ROUND 4: 3 ch (= 1 tr), work 1 tr in every tr until 2 ch-loop in each corner, work (2 tr, 2 ch, 2 tr) in each corner around the entire round and finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch at beg of round = 64 tr, 4 ch-spaces.

ROUND 5: 1 ch (= 1 dc), skip 1st tr, work 1 dc in every tr until 2 ch-loop in each corner, work (1 dc, 1 htr, 1 dc) in each corner around entire round. Finish with 1 sl st in first dc from beg of round = 72 dc and 4 htr around entire square. Cut the yarn.

A piece Anemona flower finished, approx 9,5 x 9,5 cm. Fasten off and work 5 squares in total the same way in the same colours - or use the colours you like.
