GARTER ST (back and forth on needle):
K all rows. 1 ridge = K2 rows.
GARTER ST (in the round on double pointed needles):
* K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*. 1 ridge = 2 rounds.
----------------------------------------------------------

SLIPPER:
Worked back and forth on circular needle.
Cast on 32-36-36-40 (44-48) sts on needle size 3 mm / US 2.5 with Cotton Merino. K 1 round, and continue with rib (= K 2/P 2) for 8-8-9-9 (10-10) cm / 3"-3"-3½"-3½" (4"-4")– adjust so that next row is worked from WS. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE P 1 row from WS while AT THE SAME TIME dec 4-6-4-6 (6-6) sts evenly on row = 28-30-32-34 (38-42) sts. On next row work eyelet holes as follows from RS: K 1, * K 2 tog, 1 YO *, repeat from *-* until 1 st remains and finish with K 1. P 1 row from WS, cut the yarn.

Slip the outermost 11-11-12-12 (13-14) sts in each side on 1 stitch holder = 6-8-8-10 (12-14) sts remain on needle (= mid on top of foot). Work 6-8-8-10 (12-14) ridges back and forth over the middle sts (= 12-16-16-20 (24-28) rows and approx. 3-4-4-5 (6-7) cm / 1"-1½"-1½"-2" (2½"-2 3/4") in garter st). Cut the yarn.
Work next row as follows from RS: Work the 11-11-12-12 (13-14) sts from stitch holder in first side of piece, pick up 1 st in every ridge along the side of mid piece (= 6-8-8-10 (12-14) sts), work the 6-8-8-10 (12-14) sts at the front of foot, pick up 1 st in every ridge along the other side of mid piece (= 6-8-8-10 (12-14) sts and work the 11-11-12-12 (13-14) sts from the last stitch holder = 40-46-48-54 (62-70) sts. K 1 row from WS. Insert 1 marker on each side of the middle 6-8-8-10 (12-14) sts at the front. Then work in garter st back and forth AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row inc 1 st inside the 2 markers so that there are 8-10-10-12 (14-16) sts mid front = 42-48-50-56 (64-72) sts on needle. When 2½-3-3½-4 (5-6) cm / 7/8"-1 1/8"-1 1/4"-1½" (2"-2 3/8") have been worked from markers at the front, continue like this:
