Hi, I would like to know how to start the English rib when the stitches are already casted on. It's obvious there is an order of the colors I can't get. How must I cast the stitches on - with the 2 colors or what? Thank you!

Dear Jerry, you can click on one of the 2 links to patterns using that technique to have an idea of the number of sts as well as how to / when work the colours. We cast on here sts with only 1 colour, work 1 row from WS in this same colour (row 1 in pattern), then work row 2 from RS with this colour, row 3 from RS again with 2nd colour, row 4 from WS with 1st colour, row 5 from WS again with 2nd colour and repeat these 4 rows. Dit is erg frustrerend! De vrouw in de video begint niet met de 2e naald zoals erboven geschreven staat! Als je al zover gebreidt hebt als zij, heb je geen hulp meer nodig. hebben jullie geen beeld voor beeld tekeningen?vanaf de eerste naald gaat het al fout.

Hi, is this English rib the same as Brioche knitting? And is your video tutorial 'cast on 2 colours alternating' the same as Italian cast-on? And if so, is it the correct tutorial to use prior to knitting English rib?

Dear Helen, there are different techniques to work English rib/ Brioche as well as for casting on sts, the best is to test different techniques to find the one you rather use. Happy knitting!

Dear Lina, you first cast on your sts and work 1st row as stated in the pattern, then repeat row 2-5 as explained in the patterns and shown in the video. You will have to read pattern for both of these design to be able to follow the video. Happy knitting!
