I am making this pattern in the xs size. My question is regarding how to lay out the pattern at the beginning of the work, after the 2/2 ribbing. The pattern says "M. 1 (= mid back) . Does this mean that the middle of this chart (which is 24 stitches) is the middle of the back, that is stitch 12 of M1 is the middle of the back? Or does it mean that the beginning of M1 is the middle of the back?

My question is how to continue in the established cable pattern when knitting from the reverse. Since this is done on a circular needle (and you are seeing the cabling as you knit), once the split for the forelegs begins, what is the best way to knit from the inside/backside of the pattern?

Re taking the correct measurements of the dog. BACK LENGTH-Do you measure from the neck to the tail - from the neck to the hip - or from shoulder to hip? It does not specify in the pattern. For the CHEST WIDTH - do you measure all the way around the dog or just from one side to the other, beginning and ending where? Again, it does not specify in the pattern and I am making 3 of these for a friend\'s dogs and want to get the measurements correct. Thank you for your help! :))))\r\nShawn
