In this DROPS video we show how to cast on from a chain row. By having a chain row at the bottom of your work you can create live loops that can be picked up afterward and be worked down, e.g. cuffs, lace borders etc.
Chain the number of sts needed and add a few extra. Turn the chain row so that you have the back side with the bumps up. Pick up sts with your working yarn through each bump. Afterward you can easily pull out the chains to unzip the sts and put them back on needle.
You must read the pattern to be able to follow. You’ll find patterns where you can use this technique by clicking on the pictures below.

Hallo, Vielen Dank für das Video. Kann man diesen Maschenanschlag auch mit linken und rechten Maschen (machen (zB kleines oder großes Perlmuster) wie löst man die linken Maschen auf? In allen Beschreibungen und Anleitung wird nur glatt rechts gestrickt, sodass auf der Vorderseite nur rechte Maschen sind. Vielen Dank im Voraus.

Excellente méthode pour un ouvrage aux finitions parfaites! Notamment une étole dont les 2 côtés ne pourraient pas être identiques avec un montage traditionnel. J'ai encore appris quelque chose. Merci
