How to crochet granny stripes

In this DROPS video we show how you can crochet the ever so popular granny stripes.
Chain a number of sts that can be divided by 3, we chain 18 in this video.
1st row: 3 tr in the 6th ch from hook, *skip 2 ch, 3 tr in the next ch* , repeat from *-* until end of row. Turn the piece.
2nd row: 3 ch, 3 tr in between the 2 first tr groups from previous row, *3 tr in between the next 2 tr groups*, repeat from *-* until end of row and finish with 3 tr in the ch space from beginning of previous row - when making the last pull through on the last tr, change colour if you want the stripes in different colours.
You can chose either to cut the yarn and fasten it later (shown in video at the very end), or letting the yarn follow up along the edge if you will do a border around your piece after. Repeat the 2nd row.

The shawl 166-35 - I found nothing about turning the work after each row, and so I carry on in one direction. At the beginning of the row, if the 1 Ch space is already passed and you are on a treble I find it clumsy to work the two trebles around the Ch space, I work them at the end. I work a standing treble instead of 3ch. On alternative rows the Ch space is next, I ss into this after joining then complete the 3 tr, it's neater.
