I already commented, but I’m still confused. Row 1 of the cuff (I’m assuming this is RS?) k1p1…end with k2. Row 2 (WS?) k1, k1p1 to end of row. Repeat for two cm. In the video, the button hole bind off is done on the k1, k1p1 side, which I thought was the WS. The pattern says bind off on RS. Help!!!!

14.12.2022 - 06:23

DROPS Design answered:

Dear Tara, work the rib from RS with 1 st in garter st, then (K1, P1) until 2 sts remain, finish with K1 and 1 st in garter st, from WS work K over K and P over P (= 1 st in garter st, (P1, K1) until 2 sts remain, finish with P1, 1 st in garter st). Work the 2 buttonholes on a RS row as explained in the written pattern (the first one after the first 3 sts, the 2nd one when 5 sts remain on needle). Happy knitting!

I’m working on the cuff, and I’m having trouble understanding. Is the button hole bind off on the WS? I’m making the assumption that row 1 is RS. Maybe I’m wrong on this?

11.12.2022 - 03:02

DROPS Design answered:

Dear Tara, no, you cast off for the buttonhole when working from the RS (as stated in the pattern). That is, you cast off when you are working the first row from the RS after the piece measures 2cm. Happy knitting!

Deb wrote:

For the loose cuff: what does "1 st in Garter St" mean? I understand your instructions "Garter Stitch -- knit back and forth on needle." But the video looks like it is ribbed (K1 P1) right from the casted-on stitches.

05.12.2021 - 01:00

DROPS Design answered:

Dear Deb, you work 1 edge stitch at each side (at the beginning and end of the row), which is always knitted, while all the other stitches are ribbed. Happy knitting!

03.06.2020 - 10:06

DROPS Design answered:

Hei Marit.

I have never been so confused reading a knitting pattern before. I've been working at it for a few hours now and I just can't do it anymore. I love Drops yarn but I need audio in the videos and for the videos to be much slower. None of this slowing down and speeding up stuff. I need to see all the steps to figure out what is confusing me. I thought the flap I was knitting was the heel but maybe it's actually supposed to be the top of the foot. Argggh.

11.12.2019 - 05:24

DROPS Design answered:

Dear Michelle, our videos have no sound just because we are an international company and not every one is understanding english - remember to read the pattern at the same time you will watch the video - and see the "info" under the video, you can adjust the speed of each of our videos by clicking on the icon on the play bar. Happy knitting!

I have watched the video numerous time and I'm still not sure what is happening in the first purl stitch shown or what its relationship is to the stitches that will be put on the holder. I do not see this described in the instructions and I don't have a local knitting store so any additional help that you can give me will be appreciated!

11.11.2019 - 00:51

DROPS Design answered:

Dear Mary, when you start working over the stitches for upper foot, you first have to increase 1 stitch on each side, then you decrease - video is not showing the increases on each side, only the decreases. Remember you always can contact your DROPS store even per mail. Happy knitting!

13.12.2017 - 07:46

DROPS Design answered:

Bon tricot!

This is both a comment and question. Someone has already asked if you use 2 yarns for this pattern, but did not get a straight answer. Do you use 2 yarns??? I really want to make these for my daughter. I understand the pattern and have made socks before. I am just asking about the yarn, is it 2 yarns at the same time?? If so are they both type C yarns

07.07.2017 - 22:03

DROPS Design answered:

Dear Diana, the slippers are knit with two holding two strands of the yarn together (at the same time), throughout the piece. You can use the same color or use two different colour held togetehr and get a lovely marbled effect. I hope this helps. Happy Knitting!

DROPS Design answered:

Dear Rieckie, when you have worked 7 cm in 1st size - 8,5 cm in 2nd size and 10 cm in 3rd size over the middle 11-13-13 stss, cast off 1 edge st on each side - see also video. Happy knitting!

It would be more helpful for someone like me who has a bit of a learning problem to not only see how a pattern is done but to also get to hear a step by step from someone talking... Im trying to do the moon socks and cant seem to get it to go right thought the video would help me but with no one telling what steps they are doing makes it a bit harder for me :(

Dear Mrs Jensen, our videos have no sounds so than they can be seen and understood from every one speaking any language. For any further personnal assistance, you are welcome to contact the store where you bought your yarn. Happy knitting!

There is a part that says to add extra stitches: Continue with rib back and forth over the 9-11-11 sts for upper foot piece - AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row cast on 1 new st in each side (edge st) = 11-13-13 sts. The video does not show adding a stitch only knitting together 2 at either end. Is adding extra stitches necessary?

12.07.2015 - 22:39

DROPS Design answered:

Dear Veronica, you have to inc 1 st each side of the upper foot piece (= edge sts) and then dec this extra st so that you can then pick up your sts inside 1 edget st (= the extra st inc). Happy knitting!

Sandy wrote:

For the moon socks, how many stitches are you left with when you cast off. It is not very clear how many rows you have to work on to reach 3 cm in stockinette. If I knew how many stitches I will be left with it would help.

04.06.2015 - 22:45

DROPS Design answered:

Dear Sandy, at the end of slippers you work 3-4 cm (see size) in stocking st while dec 4 sts every other round. Depending on your tension in height, you will have to work more or less rows and dec more or less sts, measure the section worked in st st and cast off when piece measured stated measurement. Happy knitting!
