We are now sending the new fall/winter catalogs to our DROPS dealers. They are printed in a limited edition and and each catalog costs only 1£/$2 over the counter and 2£/$4 by mail order. DROPS fall/winter 09/10 collection is very varied. From fine to heavy, garments with texture and patterned. Jackets, sweaters, ponchos, shawls and lots of accessories. The designs are chosen on the basis of an overall assessment, where voting results and accompanying comments have been important.

Note: This pattern is written in American English.

Cable pattern: See diagram M.1 The diagram is seen from the right side.

Garter sts (on circular needle): knit 1 round, purl 1 round.
Garter sts (back and forth on needle): knit all rows.

Buttonhole: bind off 1 st and cast on a new st on next row.

Inc tip: Increase in front and back of first stitch, make one stitch, knit front and back of next 2 stitches, make one, knit front and back of next 2....til last 3 stitches knit front and back, make 1, knit front and back, make one, knit front and back. It comes up with 220 stitches in total.

Dec tip: When you dec from 220 to 75 you can knit 3 sts tog all around exept for once when you knit 2 sts tog, and 2 sts evenly are not knitted tog. Then you'll end up with 75 sts.


BAG: The bag is knitted in the round on a circular needle.
Cast on 88 sts using needle size 5 mm [US 8] with Eskimo. Knit 8 rounds in garter sts (see above). On the last round inc 132 sts evenly = 220 sts. Knit M.1.
When piece measures 18 cm [7’’] continue in garter sts, at the same time dec 145 sts evenly on the first round = 75 sts.
On the 8th round in garter sts make 3 buttonholes (see explanation above) at one side of bag as follows: K9, bind off 1 st for buttonhole, K8, bind off 1 st for buttonhole, K8, bind off 1 st for buttonhole, knit the remaining sts on round. Knit another 4 rounds in garter sts and bind off.

Strap: Cast on 6 sts on circular needle size 5 mm [US 8] with Eskimo. Knit garter sts back and forth on needle until strap measures 50 cm [19,75’’]. Bind off. Knit one more strap.

Assembly: Sew the bottom seam. Attach both straps to each side of the bag so that the strap is double. Note! Place the straps so that the buttonholes are on one side of the bag. Sew on buttons to match the buttonholes.
