NOTE: This pattern is written in British English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from cm to inches - click here. There are different terms for crocheting in British and American English. If this pattern includes crochet, click for "crochet terms" here. For this pattern in American English, please click here.
Gauge:
Pullover: 20 sts x 26 rows on larger needles in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm
Hat: 21 sts x 28 rows on smaller needles = 10 x 10 cm

Pattern: See charts. The pattern is seen from the right side and is knit entirely in stockinette st. Arrows indicate start and end points for the different sizes on the chart for Patterns 1 and 3. The chart for Pattern 2 begins for both sizes at the bottom, and arrows indicate the end point. The chart for Pattern 4 begins and ends the same for both sizes. Avslutt = end; omg = rows.

Rib: * K 1, P 1 *, repeat from * - *.

Knitting tips: In order to make the pattern match up at the raglan seam, it is very important to both maintain the row gauge and to knit the correct number of rows according to the chart.
If you wish to make sleeves longer start Pattern 3 below the start arrow on the chart. If you wish to make sleeves shorter start Pattern 3 above the start arrow on the chart.

Front: Cast on 98-110 sts on smaller needles with brown Angora-Tweed. Knit Pattern 1 – knit the first 4 rows in stockinette st, then the next 3 rows in rib. Change to larger needles and stockinette st to finished dimensions. After Pattern 1 repeat Pattern 2 until piece measures approx. 38-37 cm - see end point arrows in chart. Continuing in Pattern 2, bind off 4 sts at each side for armhole = 90-102 sts. Bind off for armhole at each side every other row: 1 st 25-24 times and 2 sts 2-5 times = 32-34 sts. The last row should be knit with brown and the piece measures approx. 59-59 cm, put sts on st holder.

Back: Cast on and knit the same as the front.

Sleeve: read Knitting tip! Cast on 48-52 sts on smaller needles with brown Angora-Tweed. Knit Pattern 1 – knit the first 4 rows in stockinette st, then the next 3 rows in rib. Change to larger needles and stockinette st to finished dimensions. After Pattern 1 knit Pattern 3 - see start arrows in chart. When sleeve measures 6-6 cm inc 1 st at each side 15-15 times every 7-7 rows = 78-82 sts. Knit till sleeves measures approx. 47-48 cm - see end point arrows in chart. Bind off 4 sts at each side = 70-74 sts. Continue with Pattern over all sts and dec 1 st at each side every other row 27-29 times = 16-16 sts remain on needles. Sleeve measures approx. 68-70 cm, put sts on st holder.

Assembly: Sew raglan seams, side and sleeve seams. Put all sts around the neck on smaller double-pointed needles = 96-100 sts. Knit Pattern 4, but after 2 rows decrease to approx. 80 sts. After Pattern 4 is complete bind off all sts, the neck will roll.

PURSE-STRING HAT:

Sizes: Head measurement = approx. 54-56 cm.

Hat: Cast on 114 sts on double-pointed needles with brown Angora-Tweed; join and place a marker at the join. Knit Pattern 1 once, then Pattern 3 to finished dimensions. When the piece measures approx. 19 cm put 6 markers in the work with 19 sts between each marker. Dec 1 st after every marker (by K 2 tog), a total of 9 times every other row = 60 sts. Continue until piece measures approx. 32 cm, bind off.

«Purse-string»: Cut 1 strand of each color approx. 100 cm long. Place all strands together and fasten one end to a stationary object. Tie the other end to a knitting needle. Twist until the cord is tightly wound, then fold in middle and let cord twist up on itself. Tie ends. Tie around top of hat so that approx. 6 cm is open at the top.
