Gauge: 16 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4" x 4"] in stockinette st.

Pattern: See chart. The pattern is seen from the right side.

Note: Ribbon has a tendency to twist when knit. For best results, untwist the yarn as you go along.

Front: Cast on 70-78-86 sts with Den-M-Nit or Belle and knit Pattern 1 once. Change to Ribbon or Bomull-Lin and stockinette st. When the piece measures 19-20-21 cm [7.5" - 7 7/8" - 8.25"] bind off 4-5-6 sts at each side for armhole. Then bind off for armhole every other row: 2 sts 1-2-2 times and 1 st 5-5-7 times. When the piece measures 23-24-25 cm [9" - 9.5" - 9 7/8"] bind off the center 20-20-20 sts for the neck. Then dec 1 st at each neck edge every other row 6-7-8 times = 8-8-8 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 36-38-40 cm [14 1/8" - 14 7/8" - 15.75"].

Back: Cast on and knit the same as the front, but bind off the center 30-32-34 sts for neck when the piece measures 34-36-38 cm [13 3/8" - 14 1/8" - 14 7/8"]. Dec 1 st at each neck edge on the next row = 8-8-8 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 36-38-40 cm [14 1/8" - 14 7/8" - 15.75"].

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew side seams using edge sts as seam allowance.
Loosely crochet a row of sc with Ribbon or Bomull-Lin around the neck and armholes.

Beads: Thread 34-38-42 beads on Den-M-Nit or Belle. Crochet around bottom edge as follows: * 3 sc (1 in every knitted st), crochet the next st as follows: pull 1 bead toward hook, wrap yarn around your thumb and hold bead in place, 1 sc in next st – this leaves a loop with the bead on it approx. 2 cm [0.75"] long *, repeat from * - *.

Cord for neck: cut 1 strand of Den-M-Nit or Bomull-Lin approx. 50 cm [19.75"] long. Thread 3 beads onto strand, put at center of strand, fold yarn double around the bottom bead and thread yarn back through the other two beads. Fasten the doubled strand to one side of neck. Repeat on the other side. Tie the two cords together.
