Knitting tension: 26 sts x 34 rows stocking sts – 10 x 10 cm

Left mitten: Knit in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 52-60 sts with Fabel on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm. Knit 15 cm Rib = K2 / P2. Continue in stocking sts – at the same time on 1st round dec evenly to 48-54 sts. Continuing, measure piece from here! When piece measures 1 cm start inc for thumb wedge. Inc 1 sts on each side of second last sts on round – to inc: yo, to avoid holes at inc ensure to knit into back of sts on next round. Inc on every 3rd round 5-6 times in total = 11-13 thumb sts and 58-66 sts in total. When piece measures 6-7 cm slip thumb sts + 1 st on each side (= 13-15 sts) on 1 thread or stitch holder. Cast on 3 new sts behind thumb sts = 48-54 sts. Continue in stocking sts until piece measures 9-11 cm. Now slip first 19-21 sts on top of hand onto thread or stitch holder, keep next 11-12 sts on needle and slip last 18-21 sts inside hand on another thread or stitch holder.

Little finger: = 11-12 sts, cast on 1 new sts towards sts on thread = 12-13 sts. Knit stocking sts in the round for approx 5.5-6.5 cm, then knit all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut yarn and pull through remaining sts, pull tog.

Hand: Slip sts from threads back on needle, pick up an extra 2 sts towards little finger = 39-44 sts. Knit 2 rounds stocking sts. Keep 2 sts that were picked up towards little finger + 6-6 sts on top of the hand and 5-6 sts inside the hand on needle. Slip remaining sts back on separate threads or stitch holders (= 13-15 sts on top of hand and 13-15 sts inside hand).

Ring finger: = 13-14 sts, cast on 1 new sts towards sts on threads = 14-15 sts. Knit stocking sts in the round for approx 7-8 cm, then knit all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut yarn and pull through remaining sts, pull tog.

Middle finger: Slip 6-7 sts from each thread or stitch holder back on needle, pick up another 2 sts up towards ring finger and cast on 1 new sts towards sts on threads or stitch holders = 15-17 sts. Knit stocking sts in the round for approx 7.5-8.5 cm, then knit all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut yarn and pull through remaining sts, pull tog.

Index finger: Slip remaining 14-16 sts from thread or stitch holder back on needle, pick up further 2 sts towards middle finger = 16-18 sts. Knit stocking sts in the round for approx 6.5-7.5 cm, then knit all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut yarn and pull through remaining sts, pull tog.

Thumb: Slip sts over thumb wedge onto needle and pick up 3 additional sts WS edge of thumb sts = 16-18 sts. Knit stocking sts in the round for approx 5.5-6 cm, then knit all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut yarn and pull through remaining sts, pull tog.

Right mitten: Knit like left, but reversed, i.e. inc for thumb on each side of 2nd sts of round in stead of second last sts.
