How does one: lift up loop from the "lying round" st and knit that with the st on the needle? as instructed on ptn #66-7 Drops Design.

Dear Sam, insert the right needle so that it takes the yarn from previous row when you will work the next st. Happy Knitting!

The translations for the Diagrams for all Garnstudio patterns are included within the text of the Pattern itself. If you look you will find lines starting with an = sign. These are the translations, and they are given in the same vertical order as the chart symbols within the diagram.

Gauge: 20 sts x 28 rows in Pattern 1 = 10 x 10 cm [4" x 4"]. 12 sts x 16 rows in Pattern 3 (Waffle stitch) = approx. 10 x 10 cm [4" x 4"]. Knitting tip: The yarn has a tendency to twist when knit. You should untwist as you go for the best results. Pattern: See chart. The pattern is seen from the right side. Garter st, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows. Garter st, when knitting in the round: *Rnd 1, knit. Rnd 2, purl.* Repeat from * - *. Front: Cast on 98-106-114 sts. Knit Pattern 1, keeping 1 st at each side in stockinette st throughout. When the piece measures 40-41-42 (22-23-24) cm [15.75"-16⅛"-16.5" (8⅝"-9"-9.5") ] change to Pattern 2, decreasing 38-40-44 sts evenly distributed on the first row as follows: Size S: K 1, * K 1, K 2 tog, K 2 tog, *, repeat from * - *, until 2 sts remain, K 2 Size M: K 3,* K 1, K 2 tog, K 2 tog *, repeat from * - * until 3 sts remain, K 3 Size L: K 2, * K 1, K 2 tog, K 2 tog *, repeat from * - *, until 2 sts remain, K 2 = 60-66-70 sts on needles. After Pattern 2, knit Pattern 3 over all sts. You will have to knit a few rows before the pattern will look right. When the piece measures 58-60-62 (40-42-44) cm [22⅞"-23⅝"-24⅜" (15.75"-16.5"-17.25")] bind off the center 8-8-8 sts for the neck. Bind off at neck edge every other row: 2 sts 2-2-2 times, 1 st 2-2-2 times = 20-23-25 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 64-66-68 (46-48-50) cm [25.25"-26.75"-26.75" (18⅛"-18⅞"-19.75")]. Back: Cast on and knit the same as the front. When the piece measures 62-64-66 (44-46-48) cm [24⅜"-25.25"-26.75" (17.25"-18⅛"-18⅞")] bind off the center 18 sts for the neck. Dec 1 st at each neck edge on the next row = 20-23-25 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 64-66-68 (46-48-50) cm [25.25"-26.75"-26.75" (18⅛"-18⅞"-19.75")]. Sleeve: Cast on 32-32-32 sts. Knit 1 row (wrong side) then knit Pattern 3, keeping 1 st at each side in stockinette st throughout. When the piece measures 10 cm [4"] inc 1 st at each side (make increases inside the edge st) 9-11-12 times every 4.5-3.5-3 cm [1.75"-1⅜"-1.25"] = 50-54-56 sts - the increased sts are knit in Pattern 3 as you go along. When the piece measures 49-48-47 cm [19.25"-18⅞"-18.5"], bind off all sts. Assembly: Sew right shoulder. Neck: Pick up approx. 60-65 sts around the neck. Knit 2 rows garter st, bind off. Sew left shoulder. Sew in sleeves and sew sleeve and side seams using edge sts as a seam allowance. |
