In the body part what is the meaning of 1 stitch x 8? Isn't there only 2 markers so meaning only 4 stitches increased?
15.07.2018 - 19:01DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Williams, you will increase 1 st on each side of each marker (= 2 markers, 4 sts increased per increase row) a total of 8 times (= 4 sts increased x 8 times) every 7th round (= work one row with increases, work 6 rows without increase and repeat these 7 rows a total of 7 times, increase one more time = 8 times every 7th row) = a total of 32 sts will be increased). Happy knitting!

I am confused as to the weight of yarn that should be used for pattern 60-17. The pattern suggests MUSKAT which is listed as yarn group B, however the pattern also suggests BOMULL-LIN which is listed as yarn group C.
29.05.2018 - 17:14DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Beaty, that's right Bomull-lin belongs to yarn group C, please use our yarn converter for any alternative. Happy knitting!

Gauge: 21 sts x 28 rows on larger needles in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm [4" x 4"]. Pattern: See charts (1 chart = 1 repeat). The pattern is seen from the right side. Seed stitch (on an even number of sts): Row 1: * K 1, P 1* Row 2: * P 1, K 1* Seed stitch (on an odd number of sts): All rows: K 1, *P 1, K 1* Seed stitch (worked in the round): Row 1: * knit 1, purl 1 * Row 2: * knit the purl sts from the previous row and purl the knit sts from the previous row * Garter st, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows. Garter st, when knitting in the round: *Rnd 1, knit. Rnd 2, purl.* Repeat from * - *. Buttonholes: Make buttonholes on the right front as follows: bind off the 3rd and 4th sts and cast on 2 new sts over the bound-off sts on the next row when the work measures: 2-2 (2-2) cm [0.75"] 7-7 (7-7) cm [2.75"] 12-12 (12.5-12.5) cm [4.75" -4.75" (4-⅞" - 4-⅞")] 17-17 (17.5-17.5) cm [6.75" -6.75" (6-⅞" - 6-⅞")] 22-22 (22.5-22.5) cm [8-⅝" - 8-⅝" (8-⅞" - 8-⅞")] 27-27 (28-28) cm [10-⅝" - 10-⅝" (11" - 11")] and on the row before the work measures 32-32 (33-33) cm [12-⅝" - 12-⅝" (13" - 13")]. Knitting tips: Binding off and decreasing in lace patterns: When binding off sts for sleeve caps - be aware that yarn overs and knitting sts together in lace can counteract or double the bind off - for this reason be careful that the correct number of sts are bound off or decreased. Increasing in lace pattern: When increasing sts for the sleeve - be aware that yarn overs and knitting sts together in lace can counteract or double the increases - for this reason be careful that the correct number of sts are increased. Body: Cast on 167-183 (199-215) sts (this includes 5 sts at each side for button bands) on smaller circular needles and knit 2 rows garter st, then 3 rows seed st. Make buttonholes on the right front (see instructions above). Attach a marker at each side -- fronts = 44-48 (52-56) sts, back = 79-87 (95-103) sts. Change to larger circular needles and knit Pattern 1, but keep the 5 button band sts each side in seed st throughout. After the seed st border, inc 1 st at each side of the markers 8 times every 7th row = 199-215 (231-247) sts. When the work measures 25-25 (26-26) cm [9-⅞" - 9-⅞" (10.25" - 10.25")] knit the next row as follows: 50-54 (58-62) sts for the front, bind off 4 sts for armhole, 91-99 (107-115) sts for the back, bind off 4 sts for armhole, 50-54 (58-62) sts for the front. Knit the rest of each part separately. Front: = 50-54 (58-62) sts. Bind off for armholes every other row: 3 sts 1-2 (2-2) times, 2 sts 1-1 (3-3) times, dec 1 st 1-2 (2-3) times = 44-44 (44-47) sts. When the work measures 32-32 (33-33) cm [12-⅝" - 12-⅝" (13" - 13")] bind off for the neck every other row: 10 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times, 1 st 6 times. Bind off when the work measures 46-47 (48-49) cm [18-⅛" - 18.5" (18-⅞" - 19.25")]. Back: = 91-99 (107-115) sts. Bind off for armholes as on the front = 79-79 (79-85) sts. When the work measures 44-45 (46-47) cm [17.25" - 17.75" (18-⅛" - 18.5")] bind off the center 27 sts for the neck. Bind off 2 sts at each neck edge on the next row. Bind off when the work measures 46-47 (48-49) cm [18-⅛" - 18.5" (18-⅞" - 19.25")]. Sleeves: Cast on 56-56 (64-64) sts on smaller double pointed needles; join and place a marker at the join. Knit 2 rows garter st, then 3 rows seed st. Change to larger double pointed needles and knit Pattern 2. When the work measures 3 cm [1.25"], inc 1 st each side of marker 12-14 (10-11) times: Size S+L+XL: every other row Size M: Alternately every and every other row = 80-84 (84-86) sts. Knit the increased sts into Pattern 2 as you go along. When the work measures 14-13 (12-12) cm [5.5" - 5-⅛" (4.75" - 4.75")] bind off 2 sts each side of marker and knit the rest back and forth on the needles. Bind off for sleeve caps at each side every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 5-4 (2-3) times, 1 st 4-4 (14-13) times, 2 sts 5-4 (3-3) times, 3 sts 1 time, bind off. The work measures approx. 24-25 (26-26) cm [9.5" - 9-⅞" (10.25" - 10.25")]. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx. 120-130 sts around the neck on smaller needles and knit 3 rows seed st, then 2 rows garter st. Bind off. Crochet border: Crochet a border around the neck from the right side as follows: 1st row: 1 single crochet (sc), * ch 4, skip 2 knit sts 1 slip st in the 3rd knit st *, repeat * - * 2nd row: 4 sc in each ch st loop, 1 slip st in the connecting point from the previous row. Sew on the sleeves and the buttons. |
