The entire pattern is knit in reverse stockinette st. Knitting tip: To avoid having so many ends to tuck in, carry the yarn up the sides and begin each stripe on whatever side the yarn is on. Front: Cast on 55-61-66-70-75 sts on smaller needles with olive Vienna and knit 2 rows garter st. Change to larger needles and knit Pattern 1 in reverse stockinette st. When the piece measures 60-62-64-66 cm [23-⅝" - 24-⅜" - 25.25" - 26"] bind off the center 11-11-12-12-13 sts for the neck. Then bind off at each neck edge every other row: 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 2 times = 12 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 64-66-68-70-72 cm [26" - 26.75" - 27-⅝" - 28.25"]. Back: Cast on and knit the same as the front. Bind off for armhole as on front and when the piece measures 62-64-66-68-70 cm [25.25" - 26" - 26.75" - 27-⅝"] bind off the center 17-17-18-18-19 sts for the neck. On the next row dec 1 st at each neck edge = 12 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 64-66-68-70-72 cm [26" - 26.75" - 27-⅝" - 28.25"]. Sleeve: Cast on 30-30-31-32-33 sts on smaller needles with olive Vienna and knit 2 rows garter st. Change to larger needles and knit Pattern 1 in reverse stockinette st. At the same time when the piece measures 8 cm [3-⅛"] inc 1 st at each side every 4.5-4.5-3.5-4-3.5 cm [1.75" - 1.75" - 1-⅜" - 1.5" - 1-⅜"] 9-9-10-9-10 times = 48-48-51-50-53 sts. When sleeve measures 48-46-45-44-43 cm [18-⅞" - 18-⅛" - 17.75" - 17.25" - 16-⅞"] bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2-2-2-1-1 times, 1 st 0-3-4-7-8 times, then bind off 2 sts at each side until the piece measures 56-57-57-58-58 cm [22.5" - 22.5" - 22-⅞" - 22-⅞"].
