GARTER ST (back and forth): K all rows. 1 ridge = K2 rows. GARTER ST (worked in the round): * K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*. 1 ridge = 2 rounds. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1-A.5. The diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from RS. INCREASE TIP: Inc 1 st by making 1 YO inside 1 edge st, on next row P YO twisted (i.e. work in back loop of st instead front) to avoid holes. ---------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER: Worked back and forth on circular needle. BACK PIECE: Cast on 88-94-100-110-120-130 sts (includes 1 edge st in each side) on circular needle size 4.5 mm / US 7 with Paris. Work 2 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above. Switch to circular needle size 5 mm / US 8. Work next row from RS as follows: 1 edge st in garter st, 13-16-19-24-29-34 sts in stockinette st, A.1 (= 12 sts), A.3 (= 6 sts), A.2 (= 24 sts), A.3, A.4 (= 12 sts), 13-16-19-24-29-34 sts in stockinette st, finish with 1 edge st in garter st. Work edge sts in garter st until finished measurements. Repeat A.1-A.4 vertically until finished measurements. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE When piece measures 40-41-42-43-44-45 cm / 15¾''-16 1/8''-16½''-17''-17¼''-17¾'', bind off the first 2 sts on the next 2 rows for armholes = 84-90-96-106-116-126 sts. Continue pattern as before inside 1 edge st in garter st in each side. When piece measures 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm / 22''-22¾''-23 5/8''-24 3/8''-25¼''-26'', slip the middle 26-26-26-28-28-28 sts on a stitch holder for neck and finish each shoulder separately. NOTE: Adjust pattern according to neck (i.e. work sts that do not fit the pattern in stockinette st until finished measurements). Continue bind off 1 sts on the next row from the neckline =28-31-34-38-43-48 sts remain on the shoulder. When piece measures 57-59-61-63-65-67 cm / 22½''-23¼''-24''-24¾''-25½''-26 3/8'', work 1 ridge over all sts. Bind off. Work the other shoulder the same way. FRONT PIECE: Cast on and work as back piece. When piece measures 50-52-54-56-58-60 cm / 19 3/4''-20½''-21¼''-22''-22¾''-23 5/8'', slip the middle 16-16-16-18-18-18 sts on a stitch holder for neck and finish each shoulder separately. NOTE: Adjust pattern according to neck (i.e. work sts that do not fit the pattern in stockinette st until finished measurements). Then bind off on every row from neck: 2 sts 2 times and 1 st 2 times = 28-31-34-38-43-48 sts remain for shoulder. When piece measures 57-59-61-63-65-67 cm / 22½''-23¼''-24''-24¾''-25½''-26 3/8'', work 1 ridge over all sts. Bind off. Work the other shoulder the same way. SLEEVE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 43-43-45-45-47-49 sts (includes 1 edge st in each side) on circular needle size 4.5 mm / US 7 with Paris. Work 2 ridges. Switch to circular needle size 5 mm / US 8. Then work as follows from RS: 1 edge st in garter st, 11-11-12-12-13-14 sts in stockinette st, A.5 (= 19 sts), 11-11-12-12-13-14 sts in stockinette st, finish with 1 edge st in garter st. Work edge sts in garter st until finished measurements. Repeat A.5 until finished measurements. When piece measures 8 cm / 3 1/8'', inc 1 st inside 1 edge st in each side of piece – READ INCREASE TIP, repeat inc every 3½-3-3-2½-2-2 cm / 1 1/4"-1 1/8"-1 1/8"-7/8"-3/4"-3/4" 10-11-12-14-14-15 more times = 65-67-71-75-77-81 sts, work the inc sts in stockinette st. Bind off when piece measures 49-48-47-46-44-42 cm / 19 1/4"-19"-18½"-18"-17 1/4"-16½" (shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of wider shoulders). ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams. Sew one and one st with grafting/kitchener stitches. Sew sleeves to body inside 1 edge st in garter st. Sew underarm and side seams in one inside 1 edge st in garter st. NECK EDGE: Beg mid back and pick up 70-80 sts incl sts on stitch holder around the neck on circular needle size 4.5 mm / US 7 with Paris. Work 3 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above. Bind off. |
