Hi, I think there maybe an error at the point of 21cm and the decreasing shaping the V neck. It says to dec 1 st every 6 rows. Should it be every 4 rows otherwise there will be too many rows worked before the arm hole? I hope that makes sense. Thanks.

Dear Christine, V-neck decreases are right that way, they start quite soon, ie before the armhole and are smoothy worked on every 6th row. Happy knitting!

I don’t understand how the band stitches are added in. Are these already included or do I need to add them ? How many stitches would it require ? And how many spaces ?

Gauge: 21 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette st. Garter st, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows. Pattern: See charts. The pattern is seen from the right side. Pattern 2 pulls in - the measurements on the diagram show the garment in blocked condition. Decreasing tips-1 (for V-neck): All decs are made on right side rows. Dec 1 st inside 3 garter st edge sts as follows: After 3 sts: Slip 1 as if to knit, K 1, psso. Before 3 sts: K 2 tog. Decreasing tips-2 (for raglan shaping): Dec inside 2 raglan sts knit in the pattern Right side rows: After raglan sts: K 2 tog. Before raglan sts: Slip 1 as if to knit, K 1, psso. Wrong side rows: After raglan sts: slip 2, return to left needle 1 by 1, twisting each, P 2 tog. Before raglan sts: P 2 tog ------------------------------------------------------------- Body: Cast on 183-205-227-239 sts on circular needles with Silke-Tweed and knit Pattern 1, but keep 3 sts at each edge (buttonband sts) knit in garter st throughout. 1st row = wrong side row. On the 2nd row of the pattern end with K 1 and then 3 button band sts in garter st. After Pattern 1 inc 1 st for sizes S, M and L = 184-206-228-239 sts, at the same time knit the next row as follows: 3 garter st buttonband sts, Pattern 2 over the following 176-198-220-231 sts (start on a right side row on the 3rd row of pattern), end with K 2 then 3 garter st button band sts. Read the entire next section before knitting: Continue Pattern 2 until piece measures approx. 21 cm - adjust to end after the 2nd row of the pattern (wrong side row). Now put a marker 46-52-57-60 sts in from each edge for the sides = 92-102-114-119 sts between markers for the back. Knit stockinette st to finished measurements. At the same time when the piece measures 21 cm begin shaping V-neck: dec 1 st at each front edge inside 3 buttonband sts every 6 rows a total of 12-13-14-15 times - see knitting tips-1. When the piece measures 36-37-38-39 cm bind off 8 sts at each side for armhole (4 sts at each side of marker). There are now 84-94-106-111 sts on back. Lay piece aside and knit the sleeve. Sleeve: Cast on 56-56-56-56 sts on double-pointed needles with Silke-Tweed; join and place a marker at the join. Knit Pattern 1. After Pattern 1 knit Pattern 2, decreasing 1 st for all sizes on the first row = 55-55-55-55 sts. When the piece measures 15 cm knit stockinette st to finished measurements. At the same time inc 1 st each side of marker 13-16-16-18 times: Size S: every 7 rows. Size M: every 6 rows. Size L: every 5 rows. Size XL: every 4 rows. Then for sizes L and XL continue to inc 1 st each side of market every other row 4 times more = 81-87-95-99 sts. When the piece measures 52-52-51-50 cm bind off 4 sts each side of marker = 73-79-87-91 sts. Lay piece aside and knit another sleeve. Yoke: Put the sleeves in on the same circular needles as Body where sts were bound off for armhole. Put 1 marker in each transition between Body and the sleeve = 4 markers. Continue with stockinette st back and forth on needles and shape raglan: Raglan shaping: Read entire next section before knitting: There are 8 raglan decs per row and 2 sts between each dec (that is, 1 st at each side of markers). These 2 sts are the raglan sts and are knit in stockinette st. Dec 1 st each side of raglan sts: see knitting tips- every other row 20-18-15-17 times and every rows 10-16-24-24 times. Note: on the fronts the raglan shaping will overlap the neck shaping, so the front shaping will be different from the back. After all raglan and neck shaping are complete approx. 50 sts remain on needles and the piece measures approx. 57-60-62-64 cm to shoulder. After raglan shaping put the 3 sts in garter st at each side on a st holder. Assembly: Put the 3 garter sts on left front back on needles. Continue with garter st until edge measures approx. 10-12 cm (measure to fit to center back, fitting loosely when sewn). Repeat on right front. Sew the two edges together at center back and sew buttonbands to neck shaping. Sew opening under the sleeve. Crochet edge: Crochet with Cotton Viscose - start after Pattern 2 on right front, where neck shaping begins. Crochet as follows: 1 sc, * ch 3, skip over 4 rows ,1 sc in the next row *, repeat from * - * around entire neck and finish where neck shaping begins on left front. Crochet in the same manner around lower edge of Body and the sleeves (skipping over 4 sts), but make 1 sc in every yo from Pattern 1. Buttonhole loops: Crochet a loop on wrong side on right front where Pattern 2 ends with Silke-Tweed: 1 sc, ch 3, fasten with 1 sc 1 cm higher up. Sew a button on the wrong side on left front. Tie: Make a ch approx. 130 cm long and thread in the last row of Pattern 2 on Body with yo. |
