JACKET:
BODY:
Worked back and forth on circular needle from mid front.
Cast on 272-301-324-353-376-428 sts (includes 6 band sts in each side towards mid front) on circular needle size 2.5 mm / US 1.5 with Alpaca.
Work 2 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above (1st row = RS).
Then K 1 row from RS while AT THE SAME TIME inc 50-63-64-71-72-86 sts evenly = 322-364-388-424-448-514 sts. Work next row as follows from WS: 6 band sts in garter st, * P 1, K 2 *, repeat from *-* until 7 sts remain and finish with P 1 and 6 band sts in garter st.
Continue rib like this.
When piece measures 5 cm / 2'', dec 50-63-64-71-72-86 sts evenly (do not dec over bands) = 272-301-324-353-376-428 sts. Then work in stockinette st but work the 6 band sts in each side in garter st (up to neck dec). REMEMBER THE GAUGE!
When piece measures 26 cm / 10 1/4'' (in all sizes), work next row as follows from RS:
SIZE S + L+ XXL + XXXL: 6 bands sts, work A.1b until 6 sts remain on row and finish with 6 band sts.
SIZE M + XL: 6 band sts, work A.1a (= 8 sts), work A.1b until 14 sts remain on row, work A.1c (= 8 sts) and finish with 6 band sts.
ALL SIZES: Continue pattern like this - remember BUTTONHOLES on band - see explanation above.
When A.1 has been worked one time vertically, there are 232-255-276-299-320-364 sts on row.
Now insert 1 marker 61-67-72-78-83-94 sts in from each side (= 110-121-132-143-154-176 sts between markers on back piece) - move the markers upwards when working.
Work next row as follows from RS:
SIZE S + L + XXL + XXXL: 6 band sts, work A.2b until 6 sts remain on row and finish with 6 band sts.
SIZE M + XL: 6 band sts, work A.2a (= 6 sts), work A.2b until 12 sts remain on row, work A.2c (= 6 sts) and finish with 6 band sts.
ALL SIZES: Continue pattern like this (there are now 5-5½-6-6½-7-8 repetitions on each front piece until markers in the side and 10-11-12-13-14-16 repetitions on back piece between the 2 markers).
When piece measures 36 cm / 14 1/4'' (in all sizes), switch to circular needle size 3 mm / US 2.5 and work next row from RS as follows:
SIZE S + L+ XXL + XXXL: 6 band sts, work A.3b until 6 sts remain on row and finish with 6 band sts.
SIZE M + XL: 6 band sts, work A.3a (= 6 sts), work A.3b until 14 sts remain on row, work A.3c (= 6 sts) and finish with 6 band sts.
ALL SIZES: Continue pattern like this (there are still 5-5½-6-6½-7-8 repetitions on each front piece until markers in the side and 10-11-12-13-14-16 repetitions on back piece between the 2 markers).
When piece measures 43-44-45-45-45-45 cm / 17"-17 1/4"-17¾"-17¾"-17¾"-17¾", divide the piece at the markers and finish front and back piece separately.
BACK PIECE:
= 110-121-132-143-154-176 sts. Work pattern back and forth on needle as before.
AT THE SAME TIME cast on new sts for sleeves at the end of every row in each side as follows: Cast on 12 sts 1 time, 11 sts 2-2-2-2-2-1 time in total and then 22 sts 1 time = 222-233-244-255-266-266 sts – NOTE: Work the inc sts in A.3 but work outermost st in each side in garter st.
When all sts have been cast on, continue pattern as before with 1 edge st in garter st in each side.
When piece measures 62-64-66-68-70-72 cm / 24 3/8''-25¼''-26''-26¾''-27½''-28 3/8'', bind off the middle 38-27-38-27-38-38 sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately.
Then bind off 2 sts on next row from neck = 90-101-101-112-112-112 sts remain on needle.
Continue pattern with 1 edge st in garter st in each side until piece measures 64-66-68-70-72-74 cm / 25¼''-26''-26¾''-27½''-28 3/8''-29 1/8'', loosely bind off. Repeat on the other shoulder.
RIGHT FRONT PIECE:
= 61-67-72-78-83-94 sts. Work pattern back and forth on needle as before. AT THE SAME TIME cast on new sts for sleeve at the end of every row towards the side as on back piece = 117-123-128-134-139-139 sts.
Continue the pattern with 1 edge st in garter st towards sleeve and 6 band sts in garter st as before.
When piece measures approx. 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm / 21¼''-22''-22¾''-23 5/8''-24 3/8''-25¼'' - make sure that only 1 row has been worked after last buttonhole, slip the outermost 18-13-18-13-18-18 sts on 1 stitch holder for neck (work the sts before slipping them on the stitch holder).
Then bind off at beg of every row from neck: 2 sts 3 times and 1 st 3 times = 90-101-101-112-112-112 sts remain on needle.
Continue pattern with 1 edge st in garter st in each side until piece measures 64-66-68-70-72-74 cm / 25¼''-26''-26¾''-27½''-28 3/8''-29 1/8'', loosely bind off.
LEFT FRONT PIECE:
Work as right front piece but reversed (do not dec for buttonholes on left front piece).
ASSEMBLY:
Sew the shoulder seams. Sew underarm seams inside 1 edge st. Sew on buttons.
NECK EDGE:
Pick up from RS approx. 100 to 120 sts around the neck (includes sts on stitch holders at the front) on circular needle size 2.5 mm / US 1.5 with Alpaca. K 4 rows back and forth on circular needle, then loosely bind off with K from WS.
SLEEVE EDGE:
Pick up from RS inside 1 edge st approx. 100 to 140 sts at the bottom around sleeve on double pointed needle size 2.5 mm / US 1.5 with Alpaca.
K 1 round while AT THE SAME TIME inc (or dec) evenly to 120-126-132-144-156-168 sts.
Then work rib (= K 1/P 2) until edge measures approx. 3 cm / 1 1/8'', loosely bind off with K over K and P over P.
POCKET:
Cast on 36-36-36-47-47-47 sts on circular needle size 3 mm / US 2.5 with Alpaca. K 2 rows, then work next row as follows from RS: 6 sts in garter st, 1 st in stockinette st, work A.3b 2-2-2-3-3-3 times in total, 1 st in stockinette st, finish with 6 sts in garter st.
Continue pattern like this.
When pocket measures approx. 15-15-15-19-19-19 cm / 6"-6"-6"-7½"-7½"-7½" – finish pattern when last row in repetition remains, K 4 rows (1st row = WS), before loosely casting/binding off with K from WS. Make another pocket.
Sew 1 pocket on to each front piece with duplicate sts, place pocket directly above rib at the bottom of jacket and approx. 7 to 9 cm / 2¾"-3½'' from edge at the front (try the jacket on for where the pockets should be placed).
