Hello! I would like to know if is possible to use "DROPS Alpaca Silk" instead of "DROPS Kid-Silk". It's true "DROPS Alpaca Silk" don't is in the "wool alternative" but I've saw that the composicion is similar. I hope your response. Thanks a lot... Cheers!

Dear Pamela, you will find here all our qualities listed by group, DROPS Kid-Silk belongs to group A and DROPS Alpaca Silk to group C, and 2 strands group A = 1 strand group C, ie, 2 strands Kid-Silk = 1 strand Alpaca Silk. Happy knitting!

PATTERN: See diagram M.1. The number of sts in diagram M.1 will vary from 15 to 19. -------------------------------------------------------- SCARF: There is no difference between RS and WS, the piece is the same on both sides. Start therefore every row as if it is worked from RS. Cast on 45 sts on needle size 4 mm / US 6 with 2 strands Kid-Silk. Remove one strand and K 1 row over all sts. Insert a marker after 15 sts in from each side. Work next row as follows: First row in diagram M.1 (= 15 sts), then K the rest of row. Turn and work as follows: First row in diagram M.1 (= 15 sts), K 15 sts, and then work second row in diagram M.1 over the last 16 sts. Turn and work as follows: Third row in diagram M.1 over the first 16 sts, K the middle 15 sts and work second row in diagram M.1 over the last 16 sts. Continue to K the middle 15 sts (i.e. sts between the 2 markers) on all rows and work diagram M.1 over sts in each side. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! When piece measures approx. 120 cm / 47¼" (stop after 1 full repetition of diagram M.1 in each side), K 1 row over all sts before LOOSELY binding off with 2 strands. |
