Do you have a video tutorial for the first few rows, inc cast on. I'm finding it very difficult (probably me) and there must be an easier way. I'd really appreciate some assistance Regards Gina

Dear Mrs Sykes, you can also cast on the first 4 sts using this technique and increase to 8 sts on first round as explained in pattern. The first few rounds may be a bit tricky but since you are increasing you should be comfortable after few rounds. Happy knitting!

Safe to assume the back is finished the same as the front?

Dear M Linden, piece is worked in the round in a circle starting from mid back, then each front will be worked separately back and forth. Happy knitting!

Has the pattern been updated and made clearer since the enquiries were made by confused ladies? I really want to knit this but don't want to be frustrated by it. Thank you.

Met welke nederlandse kledingmaat komt xl overeen?
04.02.2014 - 09:01DROPS Design answered:
Hoi Gina.

Work as follows: K 1, 1 YO, K 1, 1 YO, K 1, 1 YO, K 1 and 1 YO = 8 sts. On next round K all sts. Then work next round as follows: * K 1, 1 YO *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 16 sts. Insert a marker in each of the 16 sts. Continue in stockinette st while AT THE SAME TIME on 1st round, beg to inc 1 st after every marker by making 1 YO. Repeat inc every 4 rounds (= 16 new sts per inc). When piece measures approx. 19-20-21-22-23-24 cm / 7½''-8''-8¼''-8¾''-9''-9½'' from the middle, there are approx. 176-192-192-208-208-224 sts on the needle. Now make armholes on next round as follows: bind off 30-32-34-36-36-40 sts (= first armhole), work 48-53-58-63-63-70 sts (= sts in neck), bind off 30-32-34-36-36-40 sts (= next armhole), work the remaining sts (= bottom of back = approx. 68-75-66-73-73-74 sts). On next round cast on same no of sts that were bind off over the bind off sts - continue in the round with inc until piece measures approx. 47-48-49-50-51-52 cm / 18½''-19''-19¼''-19¾''-20''-20½'' from the middle = approx. 416-432-432-448-448-464 sts on needle. On next round bind off the middle 68-70-72-74-76-78 sts at the top of neck and the middle 68-70-72-74-76-78 sts at the bottom of back – finish each side separately. FRONT PIECE: = approx. 140-146-144-150-148-154 sts. Now continue in stockinette st back and forth over sts on needle and inc with YO as before for approx. 10-13-16-19-22-25 cm / 4"-5 1/8"-6 1/4"-7½"-8 3/4"-9 3/4" – at the same time bind off at beg of every row in each side: S-M-XXL-XXXL: bind off 3-3-2-2 sts in each side a total of 11-14-24-27 times. L-XL: bind off 2 and 3 sts alternately in each side a total of 17-20 times. After last bind off, bind off the remaining sts ASSEMBLY: Crochet an edge around the body and the armholes on hook size 4.5mm/US 7 with Alpaca Bouclé as follows: * 1 sc, ch 2, skip approx. 1 cm / ½'' *, repeat from *-* and end with a sl st in sc at the beg of round. |
