Knitted DROPS socks in stockinette st with rib in "Snow".
DROPS 129-33 |
|
HEEL DECREASE (worked in stockinette st): Row 1 (= RS): Work until 4-4-4-5-5 sts remain, K 2 twisted tog (i.e. work in back loop of st instead of front), turn piece. Row 2 (= WS): Work until 4-4-4-5-5 sts remain, P 2 tog, turn piece. Row 3: Work until 3-3-3-4-4 sts remain, K 2 twisted tog, turn piece. Row 4: Work until 3-3-3-4-4 sts remain, P 2 tog, turn piece. Continue dec like this with 1 st less before working 2 sts tog until 4-6-6-6-6 sts remain on needle. -------------------------------------------------------- SOCK: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 22-24-26-28-28 sts on double pointed needles size 8 mm / US 11 with Snow. Insert a marker at the beg of the round. K 1 round, continue in rib K 1/P 1 for 4 cm / 1½". Now K 1 round while AT THE SAME TIME dec 2 sts evenly in all sizes = 20-22-24-26-26 sts. Continue to work stockinette st. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! When piece measures 10-12-14-16-18 cm / 4"-4¾"-5½"-6¼"-7", keep the first 10-12-12-14-14 sts on needle for heel and slip the last 10-10-12-12-12 sts on a stitch holder (= mid upper foot). Work stockinette st back and forth over heel sts for 5-5-6-7-7 cm / 2"-2"-2½"-2¾"-2¾". Insert a marker, continue to work HEEL DECREASE - see explanation above! After heel dec, knit up 6-6-7-8-8 sts along each side of heel and slip the 10-10-12-12-12 sts from stitch holder back on needle = 26-28-32-34-34 sts. Continue to work stockinette st in the round - AT THE SAME TIME dec in each side as follows: P the last 2 sts before and the first 2 sts after the 10-10-12-12-12 sts on mid upper foot tog. Repeat dec on every other round a total of 3-4-4-3-3 times = 20-20-24-28-28 sts. When piece measures 17-19-20-23-26 cm / 6¾"-7½"-8"-9"-10¼" from marker on heel (= approx. 3-3-4-4-4 cm / 1"-1⅛"-1½"-1½"-1½" remain), insert a marker in the mid of each side so that there are 10-10-12-14-14 sts both on upper foot and under foot. Continue to dec for toes on each side of both markers as follows - beg 3 sts before marker: K 2 tog, K 2 (marker is between these sts), K 2 twisted tog (i.e. work in back loop of sts instead of front). Repeat dec on every other round a total of 3 times and then on every round 0-0-1-2-2 times = 8 sts remain on needle. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten. |
