Thank you! Now I can see that in Spanish the text is different than in English. In Spanish, working from * to * is only 3 rows, as it only has the first half of the text, thank you for the clarification 😊

Hi, thank you for this pattern! . I have one question. In the first increase it says that if you do 4 rounds you will go from 18 to 26 (in the first case). However, from what I understand, with each round you are adding only 1st (because you are doing 2st in the last stich instead of 1), therefore, you need 8 (not 4) rounds to reach 26st, right? No? Help! :)
30.04.2021 - 05:47DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Sandoval, working from *-* is 6 rows and 2 sts increased, when you repeat from *-* a total of 4 times you will have increased a total of 8 stitches (2 sts each of these 4 times); there were 18 sts + 8 sts increased = 26 sts on needle. Happy knitting!

Love this pattern! Thank you do much. I had a few bits of yarn left over after knitting a sweater and was able to knit one sock in under a day! So nice to have them work up quick. Great pattern for beginners :)

Bon tricot!

Ah, looking at the pattern again, I just figured out that I was reading that line wrong about the "2-1-1" decrease. I am to decrease evenly across the rows 1 stitch each for 4 repeats or 4 rows. (I am making the Medium size.) Where would you recommend the decrease? I am inclined to make it with a K2 tog at the beginning of each row for 4 rows. Thanks!
02.07.2017 - 05:24DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Brocato, in size 38/40 you will dec 1 st a total of 4 times every row from RS (= every other row) - dec by K2 tog. Happy knitting!

I am at the part where it says to close the toe. I don't understand the 2-1-1 decrease evenly across the row; then it repeats 4 times. Can you explain it? If I decreased 4 stitches on the first row, I would already be down to 12 stitches in the row with 3 repeats left to go.
02.07.2017 - 05:10DROPS Design answered:
Dear Judy, you should only deacrease 2-1-1 stitch (depending on the size you knit) in one row. Evenly means you should distribute the decreases so there are more or less the same number of stitches between the decreases. And then repeat this deacrease 4 times. I hope this helps. Happy Knitting!

DROPS socks in garter st in 2 strands ”Snow”. Or in 1 strand ”Polaris”.
DROPS 126-27 |

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. KNITTING TIP: When turning mid piece, slip first st as if to K, tighten thread and continue as before (to avoid a hole in transition). -------------------------------------------------------- SOCK: Worked back and forth from the top of leg towards the toes, in garter st, i.e. K all rows. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! Cast on 20-20-21 sts on needle size 12 mm / US 17 with 2 strands Snow. On next row from WS K tog the 2 first sts and K2 tog the 2 last sts on needle = 18-18-19 sts. Continue back and forth on needle until piece measures 5 cm / 2", then work shortened rows with inc for heel as follows – See KNITTING TIP: * Work 6 sts, turn and work 5 sts, K2 in last st on needle. Work 1 row on all sts. Work 6 sts, turn and work 5 sts, K2 in last st on needle. Work 1 row on all sts *. Repeat from *-* a total of 4-5-6 times = 26-28-31 sts. Insert a marker in one of the sides after the last inc, now measure piece from here. Continue with shortened rows and dec as follows: * K tog the first 2 sts on needle, work 5 sts, turn and work 6 sts. Work 1 row on all sts. K tog the first 2 sts on needle, work 5 sts, turn and work 6 sts. Work 1 row on all sts *. Repeat from *-* a total of 5-6-7 times = 16-16-17 sts. Work back and forth without dec until piece measures 18-19-20 cm / 7"-7½"-8" from marker (= 4-5-6 cm / 1½"-2"-2⅜" remain). Now dec for toes as follows: Work back and forth on all sts, AT THE SAME TIME dec 2-1-1 sts evenly on every row from RS a total of 3-4-5 times = 10-12-12 sts left. K2tog across the row = 5-6-6 sts. Pull thread through remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten. Sew seam mid under foot and up to cast on row, edge to edge, in outer loops of sts to avoid a chunky seam. |
