Hello, a second question has come up. At the beginning of the pattern a K4, P2 rib is noted, yet I don't find this in the pattern, only a K1, P1 in reference to the sleeve. What am I missing? Could you clear this up for me, please? Thanks for this opportunity to ask questions. It really helps.

Dear Raven, these rib are worked on sleeve, when it says: Knit 3 rows rib, , then you will decrease to K4, P1 and work this rib until piece measures 12 cm. Happy knitting!

Hello, I'm just about to begin this pattern, but have some confusion in the first paragraph of the Body. It reads, " rst knit 2 rows garter st over the new sts ." I don't understand how this fits into the rest of the instructions in that paragraph. Thanks for your help.

Hi Raven, You start the body with 2 rows og garter stitch (1 ridge), then continue with stocking stitch where you begin to increase in the sides. After the first increase, work 1 ridge over the new stitches in the sides, then continue with stocking stitch after the subsequent increases. Happy knitting!

Frage zu Raglan: Werden die Abnahmen gegen Vorder- und Rueckenteil sowie die Abnahmen gegen die Aermel gleichzeitig gemacht? Also beidseits der Markierungen?
21.01.2013 - 15:27DROPS Design answered:

Wilde dit echter toch even melden. Met vriendelijke groet.

Gauge: 20 sts x 26 rows on larger needles in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm Rib: * K 4, P 2 *, repeat from * - *. Knitting tips (for raglan shaping): Dec as follows from right side: Before the marker: knit until 3 sts before the marker, K 2 tog, K 1. After the marker: K 1, slip 1 as if to knit, K 1, psso. Dec as follows from wrong side: Before the marker: knit until 3 sts before the marker, twist and P 2 tog, P 1. After the marker: P 1, P 2 tog Knitting tip: If your row gauge is not correct, you will need to make adjustments for the raglan shaping – otherwise, the yoke will be too short or too long. If your gauge is too tight (more than 26 rows = 10 cm), add rows without shaping. If your gauge is too loose (fewer than 26 rows = 10 cm), dec more frequently. Body: Cast on 128-144-160-180-200 sts on circular needles. Knit 2 rows garter st, then change to stockinette st, increasing at each edge (center fronts) every other row: 2 sts 6 times and 1 st 4 times = 160-176-192-212-232 sts – first knit 2 rows garter st over the new sts (knit the remaining sts in stockinette st), then knit in all sts in stockinette st, keeping 1 st at each center front edge in garter st throughout. After incs, put a marker at each side: 40-44-48-53-58 sts in from center front. There are 80-88-96-106-116 sts between markers (back). When the piece measures 10 cm inc 1 st at each side of each marker every 5-5.5-5.5-6-6 cm a total of 4 times = 176-192-208-228-248 sts. When the piece measures 31-34-35-36-37 cm bind off 5 sts at each side of each marker for armhole = 78-86-94-104-114 sts remain on back and 39-43-47-52-57 sts remain on each front. Lay piece aside and knit the sleeves. Sleeve: Cast on 48-54-60-60-60 sts on smaller double-pointed needles; join and place a marker at the join. K 1 row, P 1 row. Knit 3 rows rib, then dec all P 2 to P 1 = 40-45-50-50-50 sts. Continue in rib until piece measures 12 cm. Change to larger double-pointed needles and stockinette st, increasing 2-1-0-0-0 sts evenly distributed on the 1st row after the rib = 42-46-50-50-50 sts. When the piece measures 13-13-13-15-17 cm inc 1 st each side of marker every 3.5-3.5-3.5-2.5-2 cm a total of 11-11-11-13-15 times = 64-68-72-76-80 sts. When the piece measures 50-50-50-49-49 cm bind off 5 sts each side of marker = 54-58-62-66-70 sts. Lay piece aside and knit second sleeve. Yoke: Put the sleeves in on the same circular needles as body where you bound off for armholes = 264-288-312-340-368 sts. Put a marker in each transition between front, back and sleeves (= 4 markers). Read the entire next section before knitting: Raglan shaping: Dec at each side on front and back every other row 24-23-22-20-18 times, then every row 2-7-12-18-25 times. Dec at each side on the sleeve (for size M knit 1 row before beginning sleeve decs) every 4 rows 3-1-1-0-0 times, every other row 20-24-26-29-30 times, then every row 0-0-0-0-1 time. After last dec 68-68-68-72-72 sts remain on needles. Bind off sts on back and over shoulders = 13-13-13-14-14 sts remain on each front. Now knit the collar (measure the piece from here). Continue in stockinette st with outermost st at each center front in garter st as before, until piece measures 6-6-6-7-7 cm, put sts on a st holder, repeat with sts on the other front. Assembly: Sew opening under the sleeve. Collar: Join the collar at center back with Kitchener st. Sew the collar to the neckband on back with the seam to the wrong side. Crocheted edge: Crochet with Snow around lower edge of the sleeves and from center back neck to lower edge, around lower edge, up along front and back to center back neck as follows: 1 sc in first st, * ch 3, skip over approx. 2 cm, 1 sc in the next st *, repeat * - * and finish with ch 3 and 1 sl st in first sc at start of row. Brooch: Ch 4 with Snow and join into a ring with 1 sl st. 1st row: 1 sc in ring, * ch 3, 1 sc in ring *, repeat * - * a total of 2 times and finish with ch 3 and 1 sl st in first sc at start of row = 3 ch-loops. 2nd row: Ch 1, crochet as follows in each ch-loop: * sl 1, 5 dc, sl 1 *. Turn the work, crochet the next row from other side (back). 3rd row: Ch 1, 1 sc around each sc from previous row, * ch 3, crochet 1 sc in the lower edge of the 3 dc from 2nd row (in the center of the petal’s lower edge), ch 3, 1 sc around the next sc from 1st row *, repeat * - * until there are 5 ch-loops and finish with ch 3 and 1 sl st in first ch at start of row. Turn the work, crochet the next row from other side (front). 4th row: Ch 1, crochet as follows in each ch-loop: * sl 1, 3 dc, sl 1 *. Cut yarn and fasten. Sew a safety pin on back side of brooch. |
