Knitting Tension: 11 sts using 5.5mm needle in pattern = width 10cm

Pattern:
1st row (= right side): *knit 1, yarn over needle twice*, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 garter st.
2nd row (= wrong side): knit garter whilst dropping yarn over needle (drop stitches)
3rd and 4th row: garter.
Repeat rows 1-4.

Measurements: due to the pattern, measurements should be done whilst scarf is hanging

Scarf: Cast on 20 sts loosely using 2 needles 5.5mm and Vivaldi. Remove one needle and knit 4 rows garter stitch. Continue in pattern (see above) until scarf measures 140 cm (see Measurements above). Knit 4 rows garter stitch and cast off loosely. In order that the edge doesn’t become too tight, make a yarn over needle after each st whilst casting off (cast off yarn over needle as well). Scarf measures approx 142 cm.

Crochet border: Using crochet hook 4mm, crochet a border along each end as follows:
1st row: 1 dc in first st, 4 ch, 2 dtr in same st *1 ch, 3 dtr in next st*, repeat from *-*, turn
2nd row: 5 ch, 9 dtr in first ch, 1 ch *9 dtr in next ch, 1 ch*, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 dtr in 4th ch from previous row.

Crochet rosette:
Crochet 4 ch using crochet hook 7mm and Eskimo. Form a ring with a sl st and crochet as follows:
1st round: *1 dc in ring, 3 ch*, repeat from * to * until end of round and finish with 1 ch in first dc from beginning of row = 3 ch loops
2nd row: Crochet as follows in each ch loop: 1 ch, 5 tr, 1 ch. Turn the piece and crochet next row from the back.
3rd row: 1 ch, 1 dc round first dc from first row, 3 ch, 1 dc at the foot of the 4th tr in first leaf from 2nd row (i.e. in the middle of the leaf’s lower edge), 3 ch, 1 dc at the foot of the 1st tr in second leaf from 2nd row, 3 ch, 1 dc at the foot of the 5th tr in second leaf from 2nd row, 3 ch, 1 dc at the foot of the 2nd tr in second third leaf from 2nd row and finish with 1 ch in first ch from beginning of row = 5 ch-loops. Turn and crochet last row from the front.
4th row: Crochet as follows in each ch loop: 1 ch, 6 tr 1 ch = 5 leaves.

Cut and fasten ends and sew on a safety pin at the back of the rosette.
