Gauge: 16 sts x 20 rows with 2 strands Alpaca in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm.

Striping note: Because the garment in the photo was knit on the machine, it has a slightly striped appearance. When knit by hand, the fabric will look more tweedy than striped.

Back: Cast on 58-66-74-84-92 sts with 1 strand of each color Alpaca (2 strands) and knit stockinette st. When the piece measures 12 cm inc 1 st at each side every 7 cm a total of 3 times = 64-72-80-90-98 sts. When the piece measures 31-32-33-34-35 cm bind off for armhole at each side every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 0-1-2-3-4 times and 1 st 1-2-3-5-6 times = 56-58-60-62-64 sts.
When the piece measures 48-50-52-54-56 cm bind off the center 16-18-18-20-20 sts for the neck = 20-20-21-21-22 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm.

Left front: Cast on 16-18-20-23-25 sts with 1 strand of each color Alpaca (2 strands) and knit stockinette st. Inc 1 st at the center front edge every row: 8-12-16-20-22 times and then every other row: 21-21-21-21-22 times.
When the piece measures 12 cm inc 1 st at the side 3 times as on back. After all incs there are 48-54-60-67-72 sts.
After the last inc at the center front (the piece measures approx. 25-27-29-31-33 cm) now dec 1 st at the center front edge, every row: 0-6-10-16-18 times and then every other row: 24-21-19-16-15 times.
At the same time when the piece measures 31-32-33-34-35 cm bind off for armhole at the side as on back. After all shaping is complete, 20-20-21-21-22 sts remain on shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm.

Right front: Knit the same as the left, reversing all shaping.

Sleeve: Cast on 40-42-44-46-48 sts with 1 strand of each color Alpaca (2 strands) and knit stockinette st, decreasing 4 sts evenly distributed on the first row = 36-38-40-42-44 sts.
When the piece measures 12-12-13-14-15 cm inc 1 st at each side every 4-3.5-3-2.5-2 cm a total of 10-11-12-13-14 times = 56-60-64-68-72 sts.
When sleeve measures 50-49-48-46-44 cm bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 4 sts 1 time, 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times and 1 st 0-0-1-4-6 times, then bind off 2 sts at each side until piece measures 56 cm, then bind off 3 sts 1 time at each side. The piece measures approx. 57 cm. Bind off the remaining sts.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew side seams using edge sts as seam allowance.

Crocheted edge: Crochet with Eskimo along entire edge (start at center back of lower edge, up along right front, around back of the neck, down along left front and to center back of lower edge) as follows:
Round 1: 1 sc in first st, * ch 4, 1 dc in 2nd ch (= 1 picot), skip over approx. 2 cm, 1 sc in the next st *, repeat * - * and finish with 1 picot and 1 sl st in sc at start of row.
Round 2: 1 sc on top of first picot on row 1, * 1 picot, 1 sc on top of the next picot *, repeat * - * and finish with 1 picot and 1 sl st in sc at start of row. Cut yarn and fasten.
