Gemma Callaghan 11.02.2020 - 04:57:

My pattern says to "increase 2 sts mid under sleeve". What does this mean?

DROPS Design 11.02.2020 - 09:52:

Dear Mrs Callaghan, if you work the sleeve in the round, increase 1 stitch at the end of the round + 1 stitch at the beg of next round = you have increased 2 stitches mid under sleeve. If you work the sleeve in rows, increase 1 stitch on each side, inside 1 edge stitch. Happy knitting!

Lis 16.11.2019 - 21:15:

What do all of the icons mean for the patterns? I get what the crochet and knit icons are. Built the diamond? The clock (quick knit or time intensive?)?) What do the numbers followed by st mean next to the pattern description?

DROPS Design 18.11.2019 - 11:58:

Dear Lis the clock means the pattern have been added recently; and the diamond means these pattern are shown in our homepage. The number here given with (XX sts) here is applying to the number of stitches for the tension. Happy knitting!

Helen Pringle 12.10.2019 - 14:37:

I am crocheting Lovely Lily Pattern now-052-bn & on Round 21 I am having 2 difficulties. When I have completed this round I continually get 63 ch-spaces. Where it says " skip evenly over 1 dc 2 places", what exactly is meant by this. To get the extra ch-space there needs to be an increase in sts. I have repeated & recounted so many times. I made this lovely jacket in smaller size & had no trouble, any help would be much appreciated. TIA Helen

DROPS Design 14.10.2019 - 11:52:

Dear Mrs Pringle, on round 21, you are working ch-spaces skipping 2 tr between each tr, but evenly on the round you should skip only 1 tr instead of 2 and repeat this twice evenly distributed so that you get 64 ch-spaces at the end of this round. Happy crocheting!

Gail Hagen 20.05.2019 - 13:26:

I am working on lamb dance 34-1 and have a question about the A 1 and A 2 grids. “Work pattern according to A1 until 6 stitches remain on the row. Choose diagram for the correct size( which is 11 for me), work A2 over 1 stitch and finish with band stitches.” Why are the 2 diagrams separated? I would think you work A1 and A2 consecutively and don’t understand why they are separate.

DROPS Design 20.05.2019 - 14:53:

Dear Mrs Hagen, you will first repeat A.1 (= a total of 14 times in width in size 11/12 years), then work A.2 from RS, and from WS, work A.2, then repeat A.1 reading from the left towards the right. That way pattern will be symetrical on each side. Happy knitting!

Nancy 07.05.2019 - 23:51:

Trying to knit greyscale pattern, but gauge us not coming out, plus is this knit on straight needles?

DROPS Design 08.05.2019 - 08:22:

Dear Nancy, work a swatch, then block it (wash it and let it dry), then check your tension - and adjust needle size if necessary, and try again. Your DROPS store will have some more tips for you do not hesitate to contact them even per mail or telephone. This pattern is worked back and forth, you can work on straight needles or on circular needle, as you prefer. Happy knitting!

Sarah Bremner 11.03.2019 - 15:02:

Yes and still only get 204. I just dont want to rip it back a third time if i am correct. Thanks

DROPS Design 12.03.2019 - 10:21:

Dear Mrs Brenner, you should have a total of 192 sts (last row in diagram without increases) + 2 x 12 sts increased (= 6 sts increased along each side) = 216 sts - not sure where you missed the 12 missing sts sorry. Do not hesitate to show your work to your store - even sending a picture per mail, they might be able to help you. Happy crocheting!

Sarah Bremner 11.03.2019 - 14:09:

As per my previous message. It does not say to increase on the 1st arrow increase as i am doing the small size.

DROPS Design 11.03.2019 - 14:59:

Dear Mrs Brenner, oops you are right, my mistake, no increase at arrow-1 but 6 sts increased at arrow-2 + 6 sts increased at arrow-3, did you work these increases?

Sarah Bremner 08.03.2019 - 16:24:

I have been crochetting your mamma mia poncho pattern and i follow the pattern to the letter but keep getting 204 trebles when finishing the small size at the end of a1 when you have put 216. Is this a typo or shoulf i have done another increase. Thanks

DROPS Design 11.03.2019 - 12:19:

Dear Mrs Brenner, it looks like you are missing 12 sts - did you increase 6 sts on the row with arrow-1 + 6 sts on the row with arrow-2? Happy crocheting!

Modello 67-15. maniche lavorate in tondo su unico ferro con davanti e dietro? Come posso fare? Non capisco. Cordialmente.

Buongiorno Lunetta.

Marian Hillyer 08.12.2017 - 20:25:

Left front of vest 101-25:size med. When the piece measures 1 1/2"; work the next row as follows: 1 edge stitch, 13 sts of stockinette st .M.1=17 sts, 8 sts of stockinette st and 6 front band sts in seed sts. I do not understand after the M1 equals 17 sts. Please explain. Thank you

DROPS Design 11.12.2017 - 16:53:

Dear Mrs Hillyer, Diagram M.1 is worked over 17 sts, ie on first row from RS work: P3, K4, P3, K4, P3 (3+4+3+4+3 = 17 sts). Read diagram from the bottom corner on the right side towards the left from RS and from the left towards the right from WS. Happy knitting!

Georgina Lee 02.09.2017 - 07:49:

On your pattern DROPS 153-14 DROPS design: pattern no cm-004 I really don't understand A.1-A.5 for the instructions I am not really good at charts is there a version written out . Thanks Georgina

DROPS Design 04.09.2017 - 11:27:

Dear Mrs Lee, read diagrams from the bottom corner on the right side towards the left on every round (they are read bottom up). You will find just above diagrams all text matching symbols. For any further assistance reading diagram remember your DROPS store will help you even per mail or telephone. Happy knitting!

Heather 29.08.2017 - 07:17:

I have just started the Bohemian Blues Poncho, and need help in Round 2: work 1 dc in 3rd ch worked. Please can you explain how this should be worked? My interpretation is that I should place a dc into the 3rd ch space of the 6 chs just chained. Should any chains be added before continuing to the next section, *-* ? Thanks so much.

DROPS Design 30.08.2017 - 09:37:

Dear Heather, at the beg of row 2 this pattern crochet 6 ch then work 1 dc in 3rd ch from hook (= first 3 ch = 1st dc on round, last 3 ch + dc = picot). Then just repeat from *-* as explained. Happy crocheting!

Sally Falb 02.12.2016 - 20:57:

I'm creating the Celtic Dancer slippers and am confused by one part of the cable instructions. In the 3-stitch cable it says to slip 1 st on cable needle (either behind or in front of piece), and then: K2, P/K 1 from cable needl or P/K 1, K2. How do I determine whether the stitch from the cable needle is P or K considering that I'm knitting in the round? Thanks for your help...the sooner the better as it's a Christmas gift.

DROPS Design 05.12.2016 - 10:39:

Dear Mrs Falb, in this pattern, you will have to work either K or P following diagram, ie you should have P sts on either side of cable and moss st in the middle. Happy knitting!

Diane Wickizer 06.10.2016 - 21:43:

I can\"t get the squares for Sweet Martine Poncho to line up correctly. They are the same size but I can not understand the layout placement on the printout. Are their any other instruction.

DROPS Design 07.10.2016 - 09:31:

Dear Mrs Wickizer, in this pattern, place the 8 squares as shown in diag. A.5 there should be 1 square for each tip at mid front and mid back (squares with a white circle), along top of each of both upper sides sew one square, then sew another square along this one and one more, then sew the last side of squares to the upper edge of square on tip. Sew them tog in outer loop of edge sts. Happy assembly!

DROPS 125-32 HAT with Strips Please tell me the meaning of: 1. Crochet 4-4 ch, I understand 4 ch but what is extra 4 in Crochet 4- stand for. 2. Round 1: 5-6 DC in ring, why is there 2 numbers (5-6) it's confusing, is it for S/M and L-XL. Thank you, Kathy

DROPS Design 20.07.2016 - 09:10:

Dear Kathy, 1st number applies to 1st size (= S/M) and 2nd number applies to 2nd size (= L/XL), so that you crochet 4 chains in both sizes, but in size S/M you crochet 5 dc in ring and in size L/XL you crochet 6 dc in ring. Happy crocheting!
