Gauge: 17 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4'' x 4'' on needle size 5 mm / US 8 and stockinette sts. Remember needle size is only recommended!
Felting: Felt the bag in washing machine on regular wash. Sometimes there is a big difference between washing machines so there is a good idea to do some testing when it comes to temperature. We washed on 40 C/104F.
If the bag doesn’t felt enough the first time, wash it again on higher temperature.
NOTE! The looser you knit, the more will the piece shrink.
Cast on 30 sts on needle size 4,5 mm / US 7 and K2 rows. Change to needle size 5 mm / US 8 and continue with stockinette sts until work measures approx 85 cm / 33½''.
Change to needles size 4,5 mm / US 7 again and K2 rows. Bind off.
Fold bag double and sew side seams in outermost sts.
Make a braid of approx 80-100 cm / 32"-40" of 18 strands, i.e. 6 strands in each part. Fasten braid on each side of bag, on inside, by sewing and then fasten the yarn ends.
Felt the bag in washing machine - see explanation above.
Sew glass beads along the bags upper edge.
