CROCHET TIP:
Replace first hdc on every round with 2 ch. Finish every round with 1 sl st in 2nd ch from beg of round.

WORK IN THE ROUND IN A CIRCLE:
After last sc on the round, continue to next round with 1 sc in next sc (= 1st sc from previous round). NOTE: Insert a marker at the beg of round between last sc and 1st sc on round, move the marker downwards when working.

HAT:
The piece is worked top down.
Ch 4 on hook size 5 mm / H with orange and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: READ CROCHET TIP!
Work 8 hdc in ch-ring.
ROUND 2: Work 2 hdc in every hdc = 16 hdc.
ROUND 3: * 1 hdc in first hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 24 hdc.
ROUND 4: * 1 hdc in each of the first 2 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc *, repeat from *-* = 32 hdc.
ROUND 5: * 1 hdc in each of the first 3 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc *, repeat from *-* = 40 hdc.
ROUND 6: * 1 hdc in each of the first 4 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc *, repeat from *-* = 48 hdc.
ROUND 7: * 1 hdc in each of the first 5 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc *, repeat from *-* = 56 hdc.
ROUND 8: Work 1 hdc in every hdc while AT THE SAME TIME inc 0-2-4 hdc evenly on round. = 56-58-60 hdc.
Then work 1 hdc in every hdc - READ WORK IN THE ROUND IN A CIRCLE - until piece measures approx. 19-21-23 cm / 7½"-8 1/4"-9".
Cut the yarn and pull it through the last st and fasten tightly.


EAR:
Worked back and forth bottom up.
ROW 1: Ch 12 on hook size 5 mm / H with off white.
ROW 2: Beg in 2nd ch from hook and work 1 sc in each of the next 11 ch. Turn piece.
ROW 3: Skip first sc, then work 10 sc, turn piece.
ROW 4: Skip first sc, then work 9 sc, turn piece.
ROW 5: Skip first sc, then work 8 sc, turn piece.
ROW 6: Skip first sc, then work 7 sc, turn piece.
ROW 7: Skip first sc, then work 6 sc, turn piece.
ROW 8: Skip first sc, then work 5 sc, turn piece.
ROW 9: Skip first sc, then work 4 sc, turn piece.
ROW 10: Skip first sc, then work 3 sc, turn piece.
ROW 11: Skip first sc, then work 2 sc.
Fasten off. Work 1 more ear in off white and 2 orange ears.

EYES 1:
Worked in the round in a circle. Ch 4 on hook size 5 mm / H with off white and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: Work 6 sc in ch-ring.
ROUND 2: Work 2 sc in every sc the entire round = 12 sc.
Fasten off. Work another eye.

EYES 2:
Worked in the round in a circle. Ch 3 on hook size 5 mm / H with black and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: Work 4 sc in ch-ring.
Fasten off. Work another eye.

SNOUT:
Worked back and forth bottom up.
ROW 1: Ch 6 on hook size 5 mm / H with black.
ROW 2: Beg in 2nd ch from hook and work 1 sc in each of the next 5 ch. Turn piece.
ROW 3: Skip first sc, then work 4 sc, turn piece.
ROW 4: Skip first sc, then work 3 sc, turn piece.
ROW 5: Skip first sc, then work 2 sc, turn piece.
ROW 6: Skip first sc, then work 1 sc.
Fasten off.

ASSEMBLY:
Fasten eye 2 on eye 1, fasten eyes at the front of hat. Place snout in the middle of eyes at the bottom towards edge and fasten it.
Place one white and one orange ear tog and work them tog with orange as follows:
Hold the orange ear towards you and beg at the bottom of ear. Work sc through both layers up towards top and down on the other side (approx. 19 sc). Turn piece, 1 ch and work 1 sc in every sc. Leave the bottom open and place ears with off white at the front approx. 2 cm / 3/4'' from the top on each side of hat.
Fasten it so that the 2 sides of ear are approx. 1 cm / ½'' apart (so that ear is fuller). Repeat on the other ear.
