NOTE: This pattern is written in American English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from cm to inch - click here. There are different terms for crocheting in British and American English. If this pattern includes crochet, click for "crochet terms" here.
GARTER ST (back and forth on needle):
K all rows. 1 ridge = K2 rows.

Cast on 24-28-32 sts on needles size 5.5 mm / US 9 with beige. Work in GARTER ST - see explanation above.
When piece measures approx. 42-44-48 cm / 16½”-17¼”-19”, loosely bind off.
Sew tog cast on edge and bind-off edge, sew edge to edge to avoid a chunky seam.

Work an edge along each side of head band with hook size 4 mm / G/6 and off white, work in outermost st.
Work 1 sc in first st, ch 2, * skip approx. 1 cm / ½’’, work 1 sc and ch 2 *, repeat from *-* the entire round but make sure to avoid a tight edge. Finish with 1 sl st in first dc.
Fasten off.
Fold head band double. Can also be used as an open hat without fold.

Cast on 18-21-24 sts on needles size 7 mm / US 10.75 with beige. Work 10 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above.
* Switch to off white and work 10 ridges, switch to beige and work 10 ridges *, repeat from *-* until piece measures approx. 120-135-150 cm / 47”-53”-59” or desired length, make sure that scarf ends with off white.
Bind off and fasten the tails.

Fasten fringes in both ends of scarf.
Use off white in the end with beige and beige in the end with off white.
Cut strands with a length of approx. 28-30 cm / 11”-12”.
Distribute them in 3 bundles and fold them double.
Thread loops through the bottom ridges on scarf, pull ends through loop and tighten loop.
