DROPS CIRCULAR Needle size 9 mm / US 13 (80 cm / 32'') – or size needed to get 10 sts x 14 rows in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm / 4’’ x 4’’ (= 15 sts x 21 rows in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm / 4’’ x 4” after felting).

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle):
K all rows. 1 ridge = K 2 rows.

GARTER ST PATTERN:
* P 3 rounds, K 3 rounds *, repeat from *-*.

PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 and A.2. Diagrams show all rows in pattern from RS.

BAG:
Worked in the round on circular needle. Cast on 104 sts on circular needle size 9 mm / US 13 with Eskimo. Work as follows: * P 2, A.1 (= 8 sts), P 2, 14 sts GARTER ST PATTERN – see explanation above, P 2, A.2 (= 8 sts), P 2, 14 sts garter st pattern *, repeat from *-* one more time. Continue like this until piece measures 63 cm / 24 3/4''.
Now work straps as follows: Work the first 12 sts on needle, bind off the next 40 sts, slip the next 12 sts on a stitch holder (work them first), bind off the next 40 sts.
Work back and forth over the 12 sts on needle as follows: 2 sts in GARTER ST – see explanation above, continue with A.1, 2 sts in garter st.
Continue until strap measures 90 cm / 35½”. Bind off. Slip the next 12 sts on stitch holder back on circular needle size 9 mm / US 13, work as the other strap.
Fasten the two straps in each side (over the cable on the same side). Sew tog bag at the bottom.

FELTING:
Place the bag in the washing machine with a detergent without enzymes and optical bleach. Wash warm at 104F with normal spin but no pre-wash. After wash shape the bag to the right size while still wet and leave to dry flat. At subsequent wash, wash at regular wool program.
