DECREASE TIP:
Dec 1 sc by working 1 sc but wait with last YO and last pull through (= 2 sts on hook), then work next sc but on last YO and pull through pull yarn through all sts on hook = 1 sc dec.

SUNSHADE:
Worked back and forth. Ch 113-117 with Paris on hook size 4 mm / G/6.
ROW 1 (RS): Pick up 1 st in each of the next ch 5, beg in 2nd ch from hook, make a YO and pull through all 6 sts, ch 1 to make a hole over the 6 sts, * pick up 1 st in the hole, pick up 1 st in the side of the last of the 6 sts, pick up 1 st in same ch as the last of the 6 sts was picked up in, 1 st in each of the next 2 ch = 6 sts on hook, make a YO and pull through all 6 sts, ch 1 *, repeat from *-*. Work 1 hdc in last ch. Turn.
ROW 2 (WS): ch 2 (= hdc), work 2 hdc in every "star hole", finish row with 1 hdc in last st. Turn. There are now 54-56 stars on row and 1 hdc in each side.
ROW 3: ch 3, pick up 1 st in 2nd and 3rd ch from hook, pick up 1 st in the first 3 sts on row = 6 sts on hook, make a YO and pull through all 6 sts, ch 1, * pick up 1 st in the hole, pick up 1 st in the side of the last of the 6 sts, pick up 1 st in same st as the last of the 6 sts was picked up in, pick up 1 st in each of the next 2 sts = 6 sts on hook, make a YO and pull through all 6 sts, ch 1 *, repeat *-*. Work 1 hdc in last st. Turn. Repeat 2nd and 3rd row 2 more times (3 times in total), then work 2nd row 1 time, piece measures approx. 7 cm / 2¾'' vertically, fasten off.
Work the shade back and forth over the middle 13 stars in ch-row at beg of piece as follows:
ROW 1: ch 4 in the first ch (counted as 1 tr), 1 tr in each of the next 2 ch (= 3 tr in total), 1 dc in each of the next 3 ch (= 3 dc), 1 hdc in each of the next 3 ch (= 3 hdc), 1 sc in each of the next 8 ch (= 8 sc), 1 hdc in each of the next 3 ch (= 3 hdc), 1 dc in each of the next 3 ch (= 3 dc), 1 tr in each of the next 3 ch (= 3 tr) = 26 sts in total, turn piece.
ROW 2: ch 1, 1 sc in every st = 26 sc, turn piece.
ROW 3: ch 1, 1 sc in every st = 26 sc, turn piece.
ROW 4: ch 1, 1 sc in every st, AT THE SAME TIME dec 1 st in each side – READ DECREASE TIP = 24 sts, turn piece.
ROW 5: Work 1 sc in every st, AT THE SAME TIME dec 1 st in each side = 22 sts. Fasten off.
CROCHET EDGE:
Start from beg of row and work 1 sc in each of the sts along the edge at the bottom of sunshade. Fasten off.
ASSEMBLY:
Sew sunshade tog with an overlap of approx. 6 cm / 2½'' (this measurement can be adjusted according to desired circumference). Sew on buttons through both layers along the edge mid back.
