Replace first dc at beg of a dc round with ch 3 and finish round with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round. ---------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Ch 4 on hook size 5 mm / H/8 with 1 strand Karisma and 1 strand Kid-Silk (= 2 strands) and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch. ROUND 1: ch 2 (= 1 hdc), work 11 hdc in ch-ring and finish with 1 sl st in 2nd ch from beg of round = 12 hdc. ROUND 13 (only applies to size L/XL): ch 2 (= 1 hdc), 1 hdc in each of the next 2 sts, * 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in each of the next 6 sts *, repeat from *-* a total of 13 times and finish with 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in each of the last 3 sts and 1 sl st in 2nd ch from beg of round = 112 hdc on round. Finish inc in Size L/XL here (piece measures approx. 27 cm / 10½" in diameter). Now beg dec and work as follows in both sizes - READ CROCHET INFO: ROUND 1: Work 1 dc in every hdc = 98-112 dc. ROUND 2: Work 1 dc in every dc but work every 6th and 7th dc tog = 84-96 dc. ROUND 3: Work 1 dc in every dc but work every 5th and 6th dc tog = 70-80 dc. ROUND 4: Work 1 dc in every dc but work every 9th and 10th dc tog = 63-72 dc. ROUND 5-7: Work 1 hdc in every dc = 63-72 hdc. LACE EDGE: Now work a finishing lace edge at the bottom around the hat as follows: 1 sc in first st, * ch 3, 1 dc in 1st ch worked, skip 2 sts, 1 sc in next st *, repeat from *-* the entire round but finish last repetition with 1 sl st in sc from beg of round (instead of 1 sc in next st).
