ROUNDS WITH DC (applies to hat):
All rounds with dc beg with ch 2 (NOTE: not counted as first dc), continue with 1 dc in every st, finish round with 1 sl st in 1st dc at beg of round.

COLOR CHANGE - DC:
Switch color at the end of round as follows: Crochet 1 sl st with the new color in 1st dc on round. Continue on to next round with the new color.

STRIPES:
* Work 1 round cerise, 1 round light beige brown *, repeat from *-* until finished measurements.

BOBBLE 1:
Work bobble at beg of round as follows: ch 3 (= 1st dc), work 1 dc in 1st st but wait with last pull through (= 2 sts on hook), work 1 dc the same way in the same st, pull yarn through all 3 sts on hook.

BOBBLE:
Work 1 dc but wait with last pull through (= 2 sts on hook), work 2 dc the same way in the same sc, pull yarn through all 4 sts on hook.

Worked in the round top down. Ch 4 on hook size 4.5 mm/US 7 with light beige brown and form a ring with 1 sl st in 1st ch.
ROUND 1: ch 2, then 6 dc in ch-ring - Read ROUNDS WITH DC above!
ROUND 2: 2 dc in every dc = 12 dc - NOTE: Switch to cerise at the end of round - Read COLOR CHANGE - DC above. Now beg stripes with alternately 1 round cerise and 1 round light beige brown - Read STRIPES above.
ROUND 3: * 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 18 dc.
ROUND 4: * 1 dc in the next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 24 dc.
ROUND 5: * 1 dc in the next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 30 dc.
ROUND 6: * 1 dc in the next 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 36 dc.
ROUND 7: * 1 dc in the next 5 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 42 dc.

ROUND 18: Work 1 dc in every dc - While at the same time inc 0-2-4-6 sts (by working 2 dc in 1 dc) evenly on round = 72-74-76-78 sts.
Continue with 1 dc in every st until piece measures 21-21-22-23 cm / 8 1/4"-8 1/4"-8 3/4"-9" (or desired length), finish with 1 round cerise. Fasten off.

EAR FLAP/LARGE FLOWER:
Worked in the round from the centre of flower. Ch 4 with light beige brown and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: ch 4 (= 1st dc and 1st ch-space), * 1 dc in ch-ring, ch 1 *, repeat from *-* a total of 6 times, finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round = 7 dc and 7 ch-spaces.
ROUND 2: ch 1, * 1 sc in next ch-space, ch 3 *, repeat from *-* the entire round, finish with 1 sl st in 1st sc on round = 7 sc and 7 ch-spaces.
ROUND 3: ch 1, * 3 sc in next ch-space, ch 2 *, repeat from *-* the entire round, finish with 1 sl st in 1st sc on round = 7 sc-groups with 3 sc and 7 ch-spaces.
ROUND 4: 1 sl st in 2nd sc (= middle sc in 1st sc-group), work BOBBLE 1 in same sc - Read BOBBLE 1 above (= 1st bobble), ch 2, 1 dc in next sc from 2nd round (skip 3rd round), ch 2, * BOBBLE - Read BOBBLE above - in the middle sc in next sc-group, ch 2, 1 dc in next sc from 2nd round, ch 2 *, repeat from *-* a total of 6 times, finish with 1 sl st in BOBBLE 1 at beg of round with cerise (= switched to cerise) = 7 bobbles.
ROUND 5: ch 1, 1 sc in 1st bobble, * ch 2, 1 dc in next sc from 3rd round (= sc to the left of bobble from 4th round), 1 sc in next dc from 4th round, 1 dc in next sc from 3rd round (= sc to the right of next bobble from 4th round), ch 2, 1 sc in next BOBBLE *. Repeat from *-* a total of 6 times, finish with ch 2, 1 dc in next sc from 3rd round, 1 sc in next dc from 4th round, 1 dc in next sc from 3rd round, ch 2, then 1 sl st in 1st sc with light beige brown (= switched to light beige brown).
ROUND 6: ch 1, 1 sc in same st, * 3 sc in next ch-space, 1 sc in the next 3 sts, 3 sc in next ch-space, 1 sc in next sc *. Repeat from *-* a total of 6 times, finish with 3 sc in next ch-space, 1 sc in the next 3 sts, 3 sc in next ch-space, then 1 sl st in 1st sc with cerise (= switched to cerise).
ROUND 7: ch 1, 1 sc in same st, * skip 1 st, 3 dc in next st, skip 2 sts, 1 sc in next st, skip 2 sts, 3 dc in next st, skip 1 st, 1 sc in next st *. Repeat from *-* a total of 6 times, finish with skipping 1 st, 3 dc in next st, skip 2 sts, 1 sc in next st, skip 2 sts, 3 dc in next st, 1 sl st in 1st sc on round. Fasten off. Work another flower/ear flap the same way.

SMALL FLOWER WITH TIE:
Worked in the round from the centre of flower. Ch 4 with light beige brown and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: ch 1, * 1 sc in ch-ring, ch 3 *, , repeat from *-* a total of 6 times, finish with 1 sl st in 1st sc with cerise (= switched to cerise) = 6 sc and 6 ch-spaces.
ROUND 2: Work sl st until 1st ch-space, * 1 sc, 3 dc in ch-space *, repeat from *-* in every ch-space, finish with 1 sl st in 1st sc.
Do not cut the yarn, continue to chain for approx. 11-11-12-13 cm / 4 3/8''-4 3/8''-4¾''-5 1/8'', work 1 sl st in the last st on the large flower (ear flap), cut the yarn and fasten. Work another small flower and fasten it the same way on the other ear flap.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew ear flaps on both sides of hat, further apart at the front than the back.
