GARTER ST (back and forth on circular needle): K all rows. SEED ST: 1st row: * K 1, P 1 *, repeat from *-*. 2nd row: K over P and P over K. Repeat 2nd row. BUTTON HOLES: Bind off for button holes on right front band. 1 button hole = bind off 3rd st from mid front and cast on 1 new st on next row over this st. Bind off for button holes when piece measures: SIZE S: 27, 33, 39 and 45 cm / 10⅝",13",15¼" and 17¾" SIZE M: 29, 35, 41 and 47 cm / 11⅜",13¾",16⅛" and 18½" SIZE L: 28, 35, 42 and 49 cm / 11",13¾",16½" and 19¼" SIZE XL: 30, 37, 44 and 51 cm / 11¾",14½",17¼" and 20" SIZE XXL: 29, 37, 45 and 53 cm / 11⅜",14½",17¾" and 21" SIZE XXXL: 31, 39, 47 and 55 cm / 12¼",15¼",18½" and 21⅝" -------------------------------------------------------- JACKET: Worked back and forth on circular needle from mid front. BODY: Cast on 191-209-227-255-271-303 sts (includes 7 band sts each side towards mid front) on circular needle size 3.5 mm / US 4 with 2 strands Kid-Silk. P 1 row from WS. Then work rib from RS as follows: 7 band sts in GARTER ST - see explanation above - * K 1, P 1 *, repeat from *-* until 8 sts remain and finish with K 1 and 7 band sts in garter st. When rib measures 5 cm / 2", P 1 row from WS with band sts in garter st while AT THE SAME TIME dec 28-32-36-40-42-48 sts evenly on the row (do not dec over band sts) = 163-177-191-215-229-255 sts. Switch to circular needle size 4.5 mm / US 7. Work next row from RS as follows: Work in SEED ST - see explanation above - with 7 band sts in each side as before. Insert 2 markers in the piece; 44-48-51-57-61-67 sts in from each side (= 75-81-89-101-107-121 sts between markers on back piece). Continue in seed st and band sts in garter st. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! When piece measures 8-8-8-10-10-10 cm / 3"-3"-3"-4"-4"-4", dec 1 st on each side of each marker (= 4 sts dec). Repeat dec every 3-3-3-2-2-2 cm / 1⅛"-1⅛"-1⅛"-¾"-¾"-¾" a total of 5-5-5-6-6-6 times = 143-157-171-191-205-231 sts. When piece measures 25 cm / 9¾", inc 1 st on each side of each marker. When piece measures 27-29-28-30-29-31 cm / 10⅝"-11⅜"-11"-11¾"-11⅜"-12¼", bind off for first BUTTON HOLE - see explanation above - on right front band. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 28-29-30-31-32-33 cm / 11"-11⅜"-11¾"-12¼"-12½"-13", repeat inc on each side of each marker = 151-165-179-199-213-239 sts. When piece measures 34-35-36-37-38-39 cm / 13⅜"-13¾"-14¼"-14½"-15"-15¼", divide piece at markers and finish front and back piece separately. BACK PIECE: READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SECTION BEFORE CONTINUING! = 69-75-83-93-99-113 sts. Now cast on 1 new st for sleeve at end of the next 2 rows. Repeat a total of 3 times in each side = 75-81-89-99-105-119 sts. Continue in seed st, then cast on 26-26-25-24-24-22 sts at the end of the next 2 rows = 127-133-139-147-153-163 sts. Continue to work in seed st with 7 sts in garter st in each side (= edge of sleeves). When piece measures 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm / 22"-22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜"-25¼"-26", bind off the middle 23-23-23-25-25-25 sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately. Continue to bind off 1 st on the next row from the neck = 51-54-57-60-63-68 sts remain on the shoulder/sleeve. Bind off when piece measures 58-60-62-64-66-68 cm / 22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜"-25¼"-26"-26¾". RIGHT FRONT PIECE: = 41-45-48-53-57-63 sts. Continue in seed st and 7 band sts in garter st as before while AT THE SAME TIME casting on new sts for sleeve at end of every row towards the side as on back piece = 70-74-76-80-84-88 sts. Continue in seed st and 7 band sts in garter st as before and 7 sts in garter st towards the side. NOTE! Remember to bind off for button holes! When piece measures 46-48-50-52-54-56 cm / 18"-19"-19¾"-20½"-21¼"-22", slip the outermost 9-9-9-11-11-11 sts on a stitch holder for neck. Continue to bind off for neck at beg of every row from neck as follows: 2 sts 4-4-4-3-3-3 times, then 1 st 2-3-2-3-4-3 times = 51-54-57-60-63-68 sts remain on shoulder/sleeve. Bind off when piece measures 58-60-62-64-66-68 cm / 22¾"-23⅝"-24⅜"-25¼"-26"-26¾". LEFT FRONT PIECE: Work as right front piece but reversed and without button holes. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder/overarm seams inside bind off edge - make sure the seam is not tight. Sew the seams under the sleeve. NECK EDGE: Pick up approx. 88 to 92 sts around the neck (including sts on stitch holder at the front) on circular needle 3.5 mm / US 4 with 2 strands Kid-Silk. K 6 rows in garter st. Bind off. |
