Hei Jinni.

I really liked this pattern (made XL size). It worked up well with some bulky yarn in my stash. I did lengthen it to go over leggings, added a turtleneck, and just did a 2x2 ribbing, so I didn't do the pattern exactly as written. However the set in sleeves and sleeve decreases on the body were straightforward and worked out beautifully. I really appreciated the design. Thank you all so much!

Gauge: 14 sts x 19 rows = 10 x 10 cm on larger needles in stockinette st. Rib: Row 1: * K 2, P 4 *, repeat from * - *. Row 2: * P 2, K 4 *, repeat from * - *. Pattern: See chart. The pattern is seen from the right side. On the right side of the chart, the rows are marked: M.1 = Pattern 1 (6 row repeat), M.2 = Pattern 2 (29 rows, not repeated), M.3 = Pattern 3 (5 rows, repeat as 4 rows). Front: Cast on 54-58-64-70-78 sts on smaller needles. Establish pattern on first row as follows (right side row): K 1 (edge st knit in garter st throughout), P 1-3-6-9-13 (reverse stockinette st), Pattern 1 (50 sts - skip over the blacked out squares, these sts do not exist in Pattern 1), P 1-3-6-9-13 (reverse stockinette st), K 1 (edge st knit in garter st throughout). After 3 cm change to larger needles - continue in pattern. Read the rest of the Front section before knitting: When the piece measures 12 cm inc 1 st at each side every 7 cm a total of 3 times. Pattern: When the piece measures approx. 22-23-24-25-26 cm (adjust so that the next row is a wrong side row) change to Pattern 2 over the center 50 sts (knit the remaining sts the same as before), increasing 10 sts on the first row over the blacked out squares on the chart = 60 sts in Pattern 2. After all increases in the pattern and at the sides there are 70-74-80-86-94 sts on needles. Armhole: When the piece measures 33-34-35-36-37 cm bind off for armhole at each side every other row: 3 sts 0-1-1-1-2 times, 2 sts 1-0-2-3-3 times and 1 st 2-3-2-3-4 times. Pattern: On the last row of Pattern 2 dec 8 sts evenly distributed as shown on the chart below the blacked out squares of Pattern 3. After all decs in Pattern and armhole shaping is complete there are 54 sts remaining. After Pattern 2 continue with Pattern 3 to finished measurements (remember that Pattern 3 should be repeated as 4 rows, not 5) keeping 1 edge st at each side in garter st throughout. Neckband: When the piece measures 44-46-48-50-52 cm put the center 16 sts on a st holder for the neck. Then bind off at each neck edge every other row: 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 3 times = 14 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 52-54-56-58-60 cm. Back: Cast on and knit the same as the front. Bind off for armhole as on front. When the piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm bind off the center 24 sts for the neck. On the next row dec 1 st at each neck edge = 14 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 52-54-56-58-60 cm. Sleeve: Loosely cast on 32-32-38-38-38 sts on smaller needles and knit rib, keeping 1 st at each edge in garter st. When the piece measures 14 cm change to larger needles and reverse stockinette st to finished measurements. After the rib inc 1 st at each side every 4.5-3.5-3.5-3-2.5 cm a total of 8-10-9-10-11 times = 48-52-56-58-60 sts. When sleeve measures 48-48-47-46-44 cm bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times and 1 st 0-1-3-4-7 times, then bind off 2 sts at each side until the piece measures 53-54-55-56-57 cm, then bind off 3 sts at each side 1 time. The piece measures approx. 54-55-56-57-58 cm, bind off the remaining sts. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Neckband: Pick up 72 or 78 sts (divisible by 6 - incl. sts on st holder) on a smaller short circular needle. Knit rib - place a P 4 at center front. After 5 rows bind off in pattern. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams using edge sts as a seam allowance. |
