Gauge: 16 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm on larger needles in stockinette st.

Garter st, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows.

Knitting tip: Put markers at side edge to mark where the crocheted cord will be attached.
Put a marker at each side when the piece measures:
Front:
Size S: 6, 12, 17 and 22 cm.
Size M: 6, 12, 18 and 23 cm.
Size L: 7, 13, 19 and 24 cm.
Size XL: 7, 14, 20 and 25 cm. Size XXL: 8, 15, 21 and 26 cm.
Back:
Size S: 3, 9, 15 and 20 cm.
Size M: 3, 9, 15 and 21 cm.
Size L: 4, 10, 16, and 22 cm.
Size XL: 4, 11, 17 and 23 cm.
Size XXL: 4, 12, 18 and 24 cm.

Front: Cast on 98-104-110-118-126 sts on smaller needles and knit 4 rows garter st. Change to larger needles and stockinette st, keeping the edge st at each side in garter st throughout. Read Knitting tip. Put 1 marker at center front. When the piece measures 8-9-10-11-12 cm mark where the crocheted Xs shall be sewn by purling a st 9 sts each side of the center marker (as seen from right side). Repeat every 6 cm 3 times.
At the same time when the piece measures 24-25-26-27-28 cm put a marker at each side to indicate where the sleeves are sewn in.
When the piece measures 31-33-35-37-39 cm put the center 12-12-12-14-14 sts on a st holder for the neck. Then bind off at each neck edge every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times and 1 st 3 times = 33-36-39-42-46 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 40-42-44-46-48 cm.

Back: Cast on and knit the same as the front, but without markers for X-pattern at center back. When the piece measures 38-40-42-44-46 cm, bind off the center 30-30-30-32-32 sts for the neck. On the next row dec 1 st at each neck edge = 33-36-39-42-46 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 40-42-44-46-48 cm.

Sleeve: Cast on 42-44-46-48-50 sts on smaller needles. Knit 4 rows garter st, change to larger needles and stockinette st. When the piece measures 8 cm inc 1 st at each side every 7-5.5-4.5-4-3 cm a total of 5-6-7-7-8 times = 52-56-60-62-66 sts. When sleeve measures 39-38-37-35-33 cm bind off 5 sts at the beginning of each row 4 times. The piece measures approx. 41-40-39-37-35 cm, bind off the remaining sts.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams.
Neckband: Pick up approx. 84-90 sts around the neck on smaller short circular needles (incl. sts on st holder); join and place a marker at the join. Purl 1 right side row, then K 5 rows stockinette st, then bind off, the neckband will roll.
Sew in sleeves, start at the marker on front and ease sleeve cap so that you end at the marker on back. Sew sleeve seams using edge sts as seam allowance.
Crocheted cross center front: Ch 2 cords approx. 40 cm long. Lay cords on front so that there will be 3 Xs – fasten each point on the P st marker. Fasten cord by sewing 1 st in each point.
Crocheted cords for sides: Start with 1 sc at the side of cast-on edge of front, ch 6 cm, fasten with 1 sl st at 1st marker on back, ch 5.5 cm, fasten with 1 sl st at 1st marker on front, ch 5 cm, fasten with 1 sl st at 2nd marker on back. Continue in this manner, ch 0.5 cm shorter ch-cord for each time you fasten with 1 sl st at the next marker. Finish with ch 2 cm and 1 sl st in the last row on back before sleeve, cut yarn. Repeat on the other side.
