I bought baby merino and saw the sweet molly pattern. Can I use baby merino instead of saffran wool? Do I use a 2.5 mm as mentioned in the pattern) or a 3 mm needle (as suggested on baby merino)
01.11.2023 - 15:35DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Snoek, Baby Merino and Safran both belong the the same yarn group A so that you can use Baby Merino instead, just check with the yarn converter if you have enough yarn. And remember to check your tension and adjust needle size if needed. Happy knitting!

Gracias, me encanta vuestro sitio web.

The pattern says cast on x number of stitches, including edge stitches. For example cast on 68 stitches including 2 edge stitches. Should I be casting on 70 stitches? Or just 68 but using garter stitch for the first and last in the the row? I have never seen this term before! I have knitted to the neck shaping and now cannot see how I will end up with the correct number of stitches after the decreases. Thankyou
23.03.2016 - 18:40DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Gee, the 2 edge sts are included in the 68 sts you cast on in 1st size, so that 68 sts is correct number of sts to start with. Then dec for armholes on each side 3 sts + 2 sts + 1 st x 4 times (= 9sts x 2 sides= 18sts, 68-18= 50 sts) then bind off for neck the middle 12 sts (50-12 /2= 19 sts for each shoulder )then cast off for neck: 2 sts x 2 times + 1 st x 3 times (= 7 sts dec): 19-7 sts= 12 sts for shoulder. Happy knitting!
