Left wrist warmer:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 45-49 sts on needle size 3.5 [US 4] with Karisma.
K 1 round and continue as follows: K 0-2 sts, P 3 sts, rib K2/P2 on the next 42-44 sts. When piece measures 4 cm [1½”] change to needle size 4 mm [US 6] and continue as follows: P 0-2 sts, M.1 (= 27 sts), P 18-20 sts. Remember the knitting gauge! When piece measures 15 cm [6”] beg inc for thumb gusset. Inc 1 st on both sides of the last st on round – inc by making 1 YO (to avoid a hole work YO into back of loop on next round). Inc on every 4th round a total of 4-5 times = 9-11 thumb sts and 53-59 sts in total. When piece measures 20-21 cm [8”-8¼”] slip thumb sts + 1 st on both sides (= 11-13 sts) on a stitch holder. Cast on 3 new sts behind the thumb = 45-49 sts. Continue in pattern until piece measures 23-24 cm [9”-9½”], and now continue in rib on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm [US 4] as follows: K 0-2 sts, P 3 sts, rib K2/P2 on the next 42-44 sts. Bind off in rib when piece measures 27-28 cm [10 5/8”-11”].

Thumb: Slip the 11-13 sts from stitch holder back on needle size 3.5 mm [US 4] and pick up 3 sts in the edge of the 3 sts cast on behind thumb gusset = 14-16 sts. K 1 round, at the same time dec 2-0 sts evenly = 12-16 sts. Work rib, K2/P2, until thumb measures 4 cm [1½”] and bind off in rib.

Right wrist warmer:
Like left wrist warmer, but mirrored, i.e. work pattern as follows: P 18-20 sts, M.1 (= 27 sts), P 0-2 sts. Inc for thumb gusset on both sides of the second st on round instead of the last st.
