Gauge: Smaller needles: 23 sts x 30 rows with 1 strand Alpaca + 1 strand Glitter in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm. Larger needles: 20 sts x 26 rows with 1 strand Alpaca + 1 strand Glitter in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm. Knitting tips (for armhole): Dec 1 st inside 2 edge sts in garter st as follows: After 2 edge sts: Slip 1 st as if to knit, K 1, psso. Before 2 edge sts: K 2 tog. Increasing tips (for shoulder): Inc 1 st by making a yo inside 2 edge sts in garter st and K 1 (3 sts). On row back twist and P yo from previous row. Rib: * K 2, P 2 *, repeat from * - *. Pattern: See the charts. The pattern is seen from the right side. Body: Cast on 180-210-225-255-285 sts on smaller circular needles with 1 strand of each yarn (= 2 strands); join and place a marker at the join. K 1 row, then knit Pattern 1. When Pattern 1 has been knit 1 time dec all P 4 to P 3 = 156-182-195-221-247 sts. Continue with Pattern 2. When the piece measures 12-12-12-14-14 cm – adjust so that you have knit 1 row after a cable – K 1 row, decreasing evenly distributed to 140-160-172-192-216 sts. Then P 1 row, change to larger circular needles and stockinette st. Put 1 marker at each side = 70-80-86-96-108 sts between markers. When the piece measures 20-20-20-22-22 cm inc 1 sts at each side each marker. Repeat inc when the piece measures 27-27-27-29-29 cm = 148-168-180-200-224 sts. When the piece measures 33-34-35-36-37 cm bind off 6-6-8-12-16 sts at each side for armhole (3-3-4-6-8 sts at each side of each marker). Front: = 68-78-82-88-96 sts. Read the entire section before knitting. Armhole: Knit the outermost 2 sts at each side in garter st to finished measurements. Dec 1 st at each side inside of the 2 edge sts in garter st every other row 0-4-5-7-10 times – see knitting tips. Neck shaping: When the piece measures 38-40-42-43-45 cm bind off the center 16-18-20-20-20 sts for the neck. Then bind off at each neck edge every other row: 2 sts 3 times and 1 st 2 times. Shoulder: When armhole shaping is complete (the piece measures approx. 33-37-39-41-45 cm) inc 1 st at each side – see increasing tips: every 4.5-4-4-4- 3.5 cm a total of 4 times. After all shaping is complete 22-22-22-23-24 sts remain on shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 52-54-56-58-60 cm. Back: = 68-78-82-88-96 sts. Read the entire section before knitting. Armhole: Knit the outermost 2 sts at each side in garter st to finished measurements. Dec 1 st at each side inside of the 2 edge sts in garter st every other row 0-4-5-7-10 times – see knitting tips = 68-70-72-74-76 sts. Shoulder: When armhole shaping is complete inc for shoulder as on front. Neck shaping: When the piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm bind off the center 28-30-32-32-32 sts for the neck. Then bind off 2 sts at each neck edge on the next row. Bind off the remaining 22-22-22-23-24 sts when the piece measures 52-54-56-58-60 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Neckband: Pick up from right side approx. 108-120 sts (divisible by 4) around the neck on smaller double-pointed needles with 1 strand of each yarn (= 2 strands). Join and P 1 row, K 1 row, then continue in rib. When the rib measures 2 cm bind off in rib. Armhole edge: Pick up approx. 92-128 sts (divisible by 4) inside of the 2 sts in garter st around armhole on smaller double-pointed needles with 1 strand of each yarn (= 2 strands). Knit rib for 2 cm, bind off loosely. SCARF: Measurements: approx. 20 x 65 cm [7-⅞" x 25-⅝"] Materials: Garnstudio VIENNA 50 gr nr 42, chocolate Yarn information and alternatives -- see last page. DROPS 10 mm [US 15] needles, or size needed to obtain correct gauge. Gauge: 9 sts x 11 rows in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm. Rib: * K 3, P 3 *, repeat from * - *. Scarf: Cast on 18 sts around 2 needles (so that the edge will be elastic). Pull out one needle and knit rib. When the piece measures 65 cm bind off all sts loosely in rib. |
